AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

The company advertises home warranty services but does not cover a vast array of services being that I am paying for the platinum service package. My cooktop exhaust fan stopped working. I immediately call AFC to address the issue and based on my service request, they didn't send a technician since they came to the conclusion that the exhaust fan is broken; which is not covered under my warranty. After explaining to them numerous times that the issue is something electrical since the fan was working perfectly, they still denied my request of sending a technician. If I could give them negative ratings, I would. This company will refuse to cover your claim, then make you go in circles to get any kind of refund. I bought my home 13 months ago. The home passed all inspections with flying colors. I signed up for AFC homeclub in January when my initial home warranty ran out. Two weeks ago I file my first claim. I go down to my basement to find my sump pump has failed, in turn, flooding my basement. I call AFC who says they can send someone in 24/48 hours (its pouring down rain outside and the water is rising) or I can call my own repair. I call a local company, they come and replace the sump pump for $820. The tech notated normal wear and tear on the... Read More

We apologize for your frustration. Your membership with us began in January. Home Warranty is in place to cover failures and breakdowns that occur after your membership is active. As no one can cover something that was breaking or rusting prior to becoming a member. It is industry standard to not cover rust or corrosion if you have been a member for less than 6 months as that type of damage cannot occur within a 60-day timeframe, making it a pre-existing failure. We understand that you did not know about this and that the inspector did not raise the sump pump, it is not your fault be we cannot be held liable for a failure that was occurring before you were in the home or a member with AFC. We had our dryer with loud noises. We called and they sent out two guys from a appliance yard. They listened to the machine, never opened it and said they needed to take it to their shop- the junk yard. We get a call from AFC telling us that the motor needs replaced and some other part for $399. They are happy to have us PAY OFF OUR PLAN and they will pay for the repairs OR they will apply the 399 to our plan and reduce our payments. Therefore they are NOT PAYING TO REPAIR OUR DRYER and we are out 125$ copay. The manager says on the back page of the agreement there is statement telling you this. DON"T USE THEM>

I purchased an AFC warranty last year based on excellent online reviews. After moving into the home, some electrical issue became apparent. When filing a claim I was unable to provide them with the exact date these issue started only the date I first noticed them. AFC documented the date as my "move in" date and now will not cover the issue because it falls under the 30 day grace period. My home inspection clearly states these issue were not present when I moved in. I am so dissatisfied with the service I canceled my plan. Online reviews do not reflect the poor customer service I experienced.

We apologize that you were not satisfied with the coverage. The reason you may find that our reviews are positive is that we have some of the most inclusive coverage in the market. This coverage is for items that fail after the warranty has been purchased, not prior. Per the recorded calls with you stated that each item you called a request on had previous issues. The microwave you stated you believe the previous owner knew the unit had issues and he was trying to “trick” you. On the fridge you stated you have never seen the unit make ice and the electrical you stated the outlets had not worked since you moved in. All AFC can go by is what you advise us of and no home warranty company can cover breakdowns that occurred prior to membership purchase. Home Warranty is in place for unexpected failures. The manager did advise that you are welcome to send in your inspection report for review if you would like, or you can cancel if you do not want to continue coverage with us for future failures. We would love to maintain your relationship with us and would be happy to waive your next service fee on an item that may fail in the future. Thank you for your time in this matter.

The only problem I have is the amount of time for reimbursement. I sometimes find it hard to pay out of pocket then and then to have to wait another 2 weeks for reimbursement can create a financial hardship.

Having a claim on a Sunday was difficult to get approval. However, come Monday claim agent reached out was very helpful and approved the claim. I have to wait for 30 days, to get reimbursement.

THE HEATER WAS CLEARLY COVERED BY MY CONTRACT WITH YOU AND YOU REFUSE TO PAY. AS YOU DID LAST SUMMER WHEN YOU SAID I HAD 3 AIR CONDITIONERS. CLEARLY YOUR ARE CROOKS. YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE A TERRIBLE RATING YOU SHOULD BE JAILED FOR FRAUD.

this is a less than desirable service. I am cancelling my account immediately 1-Late to respond to emergency services 2- Do not pay for required services 3- Reimbursement of pre paid services (if any payment) up to 30 day to refund Highly deceptive selling tactics. All AFC wants is your money
