AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

Out of the two claims I placed one was covered but the two companies they required we used quoted me $2000 and $1800 more then the cost the company I went with did. It was a battle to get any sort of reimbirsement from them as well.

wish i would not have signed a contract with this company. Customer service is terrible. They don't cover a lot of things that are important and should be covered. Had a plumbing issue with our fire sprinkler system and of course after we hired an emergency contractor AFC would not cover it! Really!!! On other claims we waited for ever for payments of invoices. The people on the phone are not pleasant at all and act like they could care less about their jobs. Had an issue with a septic problem and of course they didn't tell me that was an additional expense so of course, no coverage.

In a review of this, we cannot find you in our database but you are welcome to call 855-613-4555 if you believe you are a member. But the following is a standard explanation of the statements. It is important to read all of the extras we offer like septic. 80% of homes do not have a septic system, therefore, it is an add on item. When it comes to emergency items it is industry standard not to cover fire sprinkler or yard sprinkler systems. It is very important to review your coverage prior to making service requests, thank you for your time in this matter.

We had three AFHC visits Thee advisers indicated problems. Afhc administration did not provide any coverage .Finally I purchasred a replacement when it did not consistently hold the temperature. The Whirlpool cost $2000. I ask for half the cost, $1000

I am canceling my contract with you. Not happy with the response time and there is no sense of urgency on your part. The temperature fell to 20 degrees and I was trying to get someone to come to my home but the nonchalant attitude of your CSR'S leave a lot to be desired. I would not recommend this plan to anyone even though people have asked me about American First Choice.

Kathleen, We are truly sorry that you were not pleased with the service. I do show records that the unit was fixed within 48 hours which is per published guidelines, but we understand it is cold. You have the right to obtain your own technician at any time that you feel there is an emergency as we are not emergency service. When we first spoke on 11/11, we offered you that option but you confirmed you wanted us to send a technician, which is absolutely reasonable but we have to keep in mind that when extreme weather changes occur techs are booked up. Many times, you may know of techs in your area that you see everyday that can come out quicker. We would like to offer to waive your next 2 service fees’ due to your unhappiness in attempts to retain your membership with us. A customer service liaison will be reaching out to you directly.

Not happy with the services. Used to have a competitor and saw the good rating so changed over to AFC. What a big mistake, I paid in advance to have a lower rate. After two years of not having any problem refrigerator went out, and problem with AFC started. Poor response time, had to call my own service company from previous home protection to complete the job and not reimbursed fully.

People are nice but the coverage is terrible. Everything is depreciated so heavily that you will never get your money out of the warranty. I have had $1100 of repairs in six months and only received $350 from AFC. I have a 10-year-old Viking range that needed a new control board. AFC told me the replacement value was $200 for the range. Cheapest one on eBay is $3K... Edit: Responding to AFC's comment, an Editor of the site reached out to me to verify that I did have a contract after your comment. I sent him the receipt for the contract. I'm not confused, you are the company that I have this shoddy warranty with.

Reps are vague on what is covered, and difficult to communicate with. Difficult to do business if they don't have a contractor, so you have to pay out of pocket, with no guarantee or parameters on what they pay for.
