The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

My microwave oven stopped working after something shorted. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and filed a claim. They send a technician very quickly and was quoted $377.00 to fix the problem. Home Choice informed me that they had the right to buy me out and was offered $155.00. I informed them that the "built-in" cover cost more than that to replace and therefore began a month long process that has to date not been resolved. My contacts to Choice Home Warranty have lasted upwards of 67 minutes. Today I was informed that they had decided that my "built-in" was not "built-in" not therefore not covered. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT use this company. If you actually have a claim that is over $200, they wiggle their way out of covering it. Then because I threatened to pull my other property, they gave me a "goodwill" gesture to keep me as a customer by telling me they will send me $600 towards my $2600 AC replacement. It was also told to me that it was "expedited". This promise was said to be mailed 6/9/2016, and today is 7/28/2016. No check in sight, and they recently said I should receive a call from someone who can help. Please. Why should I trust this company at anything they say?

My 13+ year old refrigerator stopped making ice and the motor kept going off and on. When i called Choice, i was told that the coverage did NOT include the ice maker, but they threw it in. First technician that came never got back to me and I had to call Choice again. Another tech came and said my refrigerator was manufacturing in 1983 (33 years old). Now Choice is saying I have a leak and that of course is not covered. Only thing they will cover is the motor in the freezer. I have called them several times and at this point I am tired. I would not recommend them to anyone. I am currently shopping for another company.

After years of being covered by another home warranty company and receiving mediocre service despite rising rates, I switched to Choice Warranty. Best decision I could have made! My recent service request was handled quickly, professionally and easily for me. The HVAC service company selected, CV3 Mechanical Solutions, Tulsa, OK, scheduled a service call for the following day within 30 minutes of my request to Choice. In less than 24 hours my AC was again functioning on a 100 degree day! Well done all!

Reasons working with choice is so difficult: If your Appliance needs repair it is actually removed from your home. Never able to get an adequate response time either when trying to call in or requestING an answer regarding what the subcontractor is doing with your property. Terrible communication skills and actual repair on my washing machine from time problem was diagnosed took three weeks. Unacceptable service!

The CHW program provides peace of mind for all of the small repairs that may be needed in your home and some of the bigger things too. I have used CHW for a number of years now and think it’s great. The amount of items covered is impressive and the process of reporting a claim takes the hassle away from finding a qualified and reputable repair company. CHW do not cover some major very expensive parts or pieces of home equipment e.g. Air Conditioning Coils or a replacing a Hot Water Heater, but for 95% of issues in your home you will be covered. And when you are not covered at least the technician will have diagnosed exactly what is wrong. All in all, it’s worth it to never have to search... Read More

My air conditioner went up in the middle of a heat wave I went online submitted the service request. The next morning the company called came out assessed the situation order the part and return to install the part the very next day thank you Choice home warranty for a job well done I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.
