Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I was sad to learn that the leak was not covered because it wasn’t failure of mechanical equipment. Upon the vendor entering the house, without even looking at the problem, he was recommending an extended service plan with his company. I bought this policy for peace of mind And it said it covered roof leaks, and this is a small one indeed and I was given a price of $780 to fix it. I am going to have a meeting with my family who are pretty well informed about the trades and if this is the way it is going to be, I might have to cancel the policy And get the majority of my money back. Sam sealed the deal. He was professional, friendly and ridiculously informative. Answered all of my questions with solid info. I went in just shopping for info and now I'm have a great home warranty for 5 years. I am going to highly recommend to anyone I know buying a house or looking for a new warranty.

Contacted CHOICE to initiate a claim (ceiling fax fix/replace). Within 12 hours I had a response and a service provider was identified. I was extremely happy with the prompt response. The only problem I had was with the service provider. While he did very good work, he was very late coming to our home. Originally we were given a service call window between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. he actually never showed up till 5:00 p.m. and didn’t complete the work till about 6:30 p.m. Overall, I am happy things worked out as well as it did. Good job CHOICE!

Service is much improved from the last time I had a claim. Two main reasons: 1. You had a service agent in my area. 2. You had a service agent at my house in less than 24 hours. 3. Repair approval was done during the service agents visit. 4. Your prompt service allowed me to get back on my schedule. Thank you.

It hasn't worked for me this time. I reported a microwave problem on 4/11/2023, after a MONTH, it is still not working. Next appointment is set to 5/22/23. Imaging a life without a microwave for more than a month.

Both gentleman who came to do the repairs were excellent. One guy tried to repair the garbage disposal and found it needed to be replaced. He replaced the garbage disposal the same day. The gentleman who came to diagnose the ice dispenser in our freezer (found bad seal) and the washer (won’t spin) determined the issues, ordered the parts and returned to repair as soon as the parts came in. The washer part is not in yet but he will complete that repair soon. Both gentlemen were prompt, polite, efficient and competent. Both of them did a great job of explaining the repair process and answering y questions.
