Our Overall Rating: 3.8 / 5 (Very good)

Cinch Home Services has been around for many years and offers some of the most comprehensive home warranties in the industry. It's a little more difficult to compare its costs to competitors because service fees and plans can vary by region, but you can get a quote online to see what plans cost in your local area.

Cinch home warranties offer one unique feature that sets the company apart from many competitors: a Homeowners Insurance Deductible Reimbursement. The company will reimburse you for up to $500 if you make a homeowners insurance claim for a covered item. That can ease the sting of having to pay a deductible on your claim. There are limitations attached to this feature and it is only included with Cinch's Complete plan, but it still represents a savings opportunity.

As with any home warranty provider, make sure you read the sample contract first and ask the company about any questions you have so you don't have any unexpected surprises when you go to file a claim. Cinch’s contracts are easy to read and clearly outline what’s covered and what’s not.

Coverage Options - 3.5 / 5

Cinch Home Services offers a choice of three aptly named plans: the Appliances Plan, the Built-in Systems Plan, and the Complete Plan. Each plan covers what you'd expect them to cover based on the name and coverage is in keeping with most other home warranties.

The company also offers additional coverage for such home features as pools, spas, septic tanks, and well pumps at an additional cost. You can craft a customized plan to suit your need by combining their standard plans' coverage with these options.

Specialty Items and Additional Coverage

The maximum covered amount for swimming pool and spa equipment is $1,500 per term. Cinch Home Services will pay up to $1,500 per term for access, diagnosis and repair, or to replace equipment. Septic system pumping coverage is available for $500 per term. Septic system replacement coverage is available for $1,000 per term.

Terrible company! Stay far away from Cinch Home Services. They deny claims and do not answer calls or emails. All claims are funneled to overseas call centers that have no idea what they are talking about. Claims will need to be settle in court! Save yourself the hassle.

Do not at all costs use this company. We have a broken air conditioner- weather is humid over 100 degrees for 2 weeks. We call - have had this warranty for years and barely use. They assign us a company we never heard of. We call and they can't get out for a week. We call back and ask for different provider. They say none of their providers can come before that. Fine we wait. Their provider comes and says it leaking coolant and way to low, shuts on and off so believes there is a mechanical issue, and the company (yes that the wonderful home warranty sent out last year) put in wrong collant for system and contaminated the lines as well (2we paid for that wrong coolant by the way because... I would give zero stars if possible. Called for service on one appliance 9 months into the year of paying $49/month. Service rep told me one thing, requested review for something else which was denied. No opportunity to escalate or request review of decisions. Extremely poor communication and Cinch takes every opportunity to say "no" even when the contract verbage means that it should be covered. Terrible communication, no recourse or ability to speak to management. Will never do business with them again

This is the absolute worst company I have ever worked with. I had made a two-part request with a plumber. He partially did one job and then complained to me about how poorly he was paid by CINCH and how he wouldn't come back to finish the jobs (one job was not finished - the other job was never even begun). I spent hours on the phone on hold and then trying to make myself understood by the CINCH "customer care" team. Sometimes my call was dropped and they never called back. The last CINCH employee promised to escalate my claims but they ended up just closing my claims. I have cancelled my contract - which cost me $100. Very expensive but considering I don't have to deal with this... Read More

If there was a negative star rating, this company would be at the very bottom, of the bottom. I have been a member of this company since 2017, when it was Long and Foster. They transferred over to Cinch, and I kept going with this company. I had my hot water heater flood my basement, and I tried to use them to get service. After calling them, the automated system sent me a text and told me to fill out an online request. After doing so, I was told there were no service providers in the area, and to call the number I just called. After 25 minutes of navigating their ridiculous automated system to get a real person, I scheduled myself for a call back. 2 hours later, I get a call back, and... Read More

This company is a TOTAL FRAUD!!! I've been paying $50 per month since Feb. 2016. When operated by Sears, everything worked according to plan. Now that it is managed by Cinch, I have had no functioning refrigerator since Dec. 27, 2021 (3 months ago) and they refuse to repair it. I paid $75 service charge up front. Service person came and diagnosed problem as compressor. Cinch says that it has to be handled by the manufacturer. Why did I buy this plan, if I had to go back to the manufacturer!! I want my monthly payments reimbursed!! My rating is 1 star. I'd make it less than that, if the website would let me.

We purchased a home in September and Cinch was the warranty company used by the seller’s realtor. We didn’t anticipate any problems but our hot water tank went out so we called someone in an emergency to get it replaced. When we called Cinch to get reimbursement we were told that this was un-authorized and therefore would not be reimbursed. Now that I have read the reviews I understand why. They do not want to reimburse anything, just try to fix them long enough for the warranty to expire. Very poor customer service! I would not recommend this company at all. Save your money and go with someone else!

You acquired my account from HWS without notifying me about my Home Warranty Service. I made a simple claim for service and paid the service fee for 125$ to your claim service on 2/19/2022 an expected you would send a service Tech person within a reasonable time. You told me to contact the service and I did 3 times without no response. I contacted Cinch and they scheduled SEARS to come out 0n 3/3/2022. Now I see online they changed that 03/15/2022. Twenty 23 days to correct basically a small problem. I have feeling that I am out 125$ will never see a service Tech at this point. The people in your organization are rude in considerate and no one the United will contact you to help resolve... Read More

On Feb 7th our furnace quits working. I go online to file a claim, and am told from the online process no is available to do the repair and that I need to call in the claim. I then call Cinch that evening to start a claim, I am on hold for 2 hr 9m. I finally give up after no one answers. I then go online to file a claim again and the online process again tells me there is no one available to do a repair and that I need to call in the claim. So I call first thing the next day on Feb 8th, only to get that the service is down due to maintenance. Being as we are up north it is quite cold this time of year. I finally called around locally to get someone to diagnose our furnace problem to... Read More
