Our Overall Rating: 3.8 / 5 (Very good)

Cinch Home Services has been around for many years and offers some of the most comprehensive home warranties in the industry. It's a little more difficult to compare its costs to competitors because service fees and plans can vary by region, but you can get a quote online to see what plans cost in your local area.

Cinch home warranties offer one unique feature that sets the company apart from many competitors: a Homeowners Insurance Deductible Reimbursement. The company will reimburse you for up to $500 if you make a homeowners insurance claim for a covered item. That can ease the sting of having to pay a deductible on your claim. There are limitations attached to this feature and it is only included with Cinch's Complete plan, but it still represents a savings opportunity.

As with any home warranty provider, make sure you read the sample contract first and ask the company about any questions you have so you don't have any unexpected surprises when you go to file a claim. Cinch’s contracts are easy to read and clearly outline what’s covered and what’s not.

Coverage Options - 3.5 / 5

Cinch Home Services offers a choice of three aptly named plans: the Appliances Plan, the Built-in Systems Plan, and the Complete Plan. Each plan covers what you'd expect them to cover based on the name and coverage is in keeping with most other home warranties.

The company also offers additional coverage for such home features as pools, spas, septic tanks, and well pumps at an additional cost. You can craft a customized plan to suit your need by combining their standard plans' coverage with these options.

Specialty Items and Additional Coverage

The maximum covered amount for swimming pool and spa equipment is $1,500 per term. Cinch Home Services will pay up to $1,500 per term for access, diagnosis and repair, or to replace equipment. Couldn't send out a service provider so told me to get my own qnd send send them invoice. Had me pay their $75.00 service fee up front and then had to pay for my service provider . They said the appliance was not covered even though I sent pictures of the covered appliance. Their claims rep speak very poor English and a lot of times the phone connection is so bad you need to hang up and try again. Their service and response time is so slow as to be worthless. I am canceling and would advise you to do the same before they rip you off for more with their fraudulent service plans.

UPDATE: It is now January 25 2 weeks since my furnace stopped. Still waiting for new part to come since they ordered the wrong part. Called today was told part would be here on Feb. 9. What happened to my case being expedited? I told them that was unacceptable. The weather in Baltimore is cold. I was given three options. Number 1 wait until part comes in Feb. Number 2 call service provider and see if he can order the part and then get it authorized or Number 3 I can call someone else to come out and they will send a check for parts and labor up to certain amount would not tell me how much that would be. That is not what I pay for and what about my $125 deductible that I have already paid.... Read More

The heat went out at my home in Fayetteville, NC. I placed a service order on 1/13/2022 and called the service provider they assigned my order to. I notified the service provider on 1/13/2022 that there is a special needs child in the home and they dispatched a technician to my home on 1/14/2022. The transformer and blower motor need to be replaced. I called Clinch 3 times yesterday (1/15/2022) and still no results. Today (1/16/2022) there is still no heat in my home with 3 children and a pending snowstorm and low temperatures. I have not received a call from Clinch yet. They have not updated my account online to reflect the status of my service request. There have been on phone... Read More

Cinch home warranty came with new house. Furnace broke, and I contacted the company on 12/20/21. They sent out a repair tech. Tech needed a capacitor and said Cinch had to order the part, and once it was shipped to him, he would be back to repair furnace. I was told part would be shipped within 2 to 5 days depending on holiday/covid delays. On 1/3/21 I contacted the company and was told the part had not shipped but it my case was being "escalated". To make a very long story short- day after day I contacted the company, finding that the company was still trying to locate the part. On 1/10/21, I contacted the company again. The customer service agent told me that the part had been located... Read More

This company is a fraud!!!!! Do not buy anything from them. I’m a professional licensed contractor and they only pay partially for things and not everything for problems. They pick and choose what they want to pay during a typical replacement of an appliance. Then they try to make the home owner pay the rest past their so called deductible. This company are scam artists. Take it from a real contractor. BEWARE!!!!!!

Summer 2021: We contacted a Cinch Home Services/Sears technician to repair our frig that could not hold the right temp. The tech made the repair and then sold us a Cinch policy for $50 month that lowered the cost of the repair and included additional repairs if needed. If the frig could not be repaired, it would be replaced or credited. He said that the policy was month to month and we could cancel anytime. Fast forward 4 months--the frig has been repaired three times (and failed each time) for the same issue. The same tech (William) declared it unfixable and then Cinch denied our claim for any credit. Cinch has confirmed this denial and will also not let us out of the contract and... Read More
