Home Service Club’s base-level 12 month home warranties start with a minimum annual premium of $400.

Coverage is not dependent on a home inspection, and this price point is slightly on the higher side of the industry standard.
With that in mind, they do offer a 30 day pro-rated cancellation policy, minus a $45 dollar administration fee.

Cancellation Policy

The customer may cancel the HSC service agreement for any reason within the first thirty 30 days following the date of purchase and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred by HSC and an administrative fee of up to $45.

After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45.

This contract may be canceled by HSC for nonpayment of contract fee, fraud or misrepresentation by the customer, by agreement between client and company, or if the customer threatens to harm or does harm the safety or well-being of HSC, their property, employees or contractors.

HSC may cancel the contract without reason at any time in the first 30 days following its effective date.

If HSC cancels the contract within the first 30 days, the customer will not be charged an administrative fee and shall be entitled to a refund of the paid contract fees less any service costs incurred.

If HSC cancels the contract after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fees for the unexpired term, less any service costs and an administrative fee of up to $45.

This company is a scam. I've been a customer for 7 years. I've only filed 2 claims. The first was for my AC unit that went out. They said they don't cover it because the system wasn't all by the same company. That's the system that was in the house when I purchased it. Was I supposed to replace a working system to ensure that it had matching components? Fast forward 5 years and our refrigerator dies in the middle of the COVID pandemic. I was given the run around for 3 weeks before being told by Gabrielle Holman that it wasn't covered because it was a leak of the Evaporator Coil, which isn't "wear and tear". Insurance is usually accused to be just about money making. I am now reformed and its staunch defender. We bought a plan out of whim and to experiment. The first instance that our microwave broke, we gave it a shot. They came and delivered and we've believed them ever since then.

I entered into a contract with HSC in June 2020. Shortly thereafter, I filed a claim for a washing machine that was not working properly. HSC responded that, given the age of the washing machine, the value was zero dollars and they were not responsible for repairing or replacing the machine. Instead they offered me $100. They (Gabrielle Holman, specifically) directed me to paragraph F.6, which they contend states that they have the option of paying a depreciated value of the item instead of repairing or replacing it. This company is taking my money and not giving me service. I have had to have a hot water heater replaced and paid over $900. The invoice was sent in on June 3rd 2020 and they are not answering my emails or refunding any of my money. It has been nearly two months and they continually ignore me. I have placed several phone calls to find out what is taking so long and have also asked for a supervisor to call. They claim the supervisor will call back within 24 hours and still there is no call. They will not respond to my emails. Please beware and see what people are saying at the BBB. They have 19 complaints against this company and mine will make 20.

Can you tell me why I did a service request on July 5th, the contractor came over a week ago, and I still have not been contacted by anyone? I have a family of 4 and I cannot keep food at my house. I need the fridge fixed. I have called multiple times the past week trying to get an update of when it will be fixed or replaced. Quit dragging your feet and make a decision. My family needs a refrigerator...I am pretty sure if one of your staff had a major, vital appliance break, you would fix it ASAP. This is absolutely ridiculous that I have not been contacted by anyone.

I was away when my husband called that the microwave broke. Attempting to be handy, I tried to tinker with our microwave. I only ended up scratching my head. At that point I knew only HSC would know how to address my problems. Nice try for myself I guess, but I will just leave it to those who know better.
