Overall Rating: 4.8 / 5 (Excellent)

Liberty Home Guard offers coverage that is wide-ranging and reasonably priced. The flexibility of its policies' terms, its network of certified experts and service providers, and consumers' access to claims filing 24/7 further improve the company's marks with us.

Liberty Home Guard's strong coverage, prices, and services make a good argument for retaining the company as an extended service contract provider. Overall, we can recommend the company for any consumer seeking affordable home warranty alternatives.

Liberty Home Guard has higher allowance amounts than the average home warranty company and sources their replacement units at a wholesale rate. They also provide customers with an exceptional repair or replace program, in which the company agrees to pay for the replacement of an appliance or system that is deemed irreparable by the contractor. What's more, it is Liberty's policy to always provide customers with the option to have an item replaced, even if it is repairable. LHG partners with many firms such as restoration firms, rekey services, pest control services, and carpet and floor cleaning companies.

LHG recently launched a customer portal on their website to allow customers to conveniently manage their home warranty accounts from anywhere at any time.

Currently, Liberty offers services in 46 states, including Washington, D.C. Customers only need to input their zip code into Liberty's website, and it will automatically tell them if they are living in a covered area.

LHG offers customers three primary types of coverage plans: Appliance Guard, Systems Guard, and Total Home Guard. They will also provide completely customizable coverage upon request. With an in-house underwriting team, the company can add or subtract coverage items to tailor the policy to cover their customers’ specific wants and needs. For example, if you don’t have a microwave in the home, or you have two refrigerators, they can make all the necessary changes to get you the coverage you require.

Add-ons include items such as pools and spas, sump pumps, central vacuums, well pumps, septic system pumping, stand-alone freezers, re-keying services, gutter cleaning services, and secondary refrigerators.

Some items may have different cost caps for repairs done to them or for full replacements. Overall, Liberty Home Guard's plans are solid, covering a wide variety of home systems and appliances.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

Liberty Home Guard sells month-to-month, annual, and multi-year home warranty policies. Plans start at less than $1 per day—and depending on the current promotion, costs can be even lower. Liberty Home Guard’s service call fees range anywhere from $60 to $125, depending on the type of plan. The company offers discounts for its multi-year policies, providing the greatest value to consumers. Consumers interested in getting a sample quote or applying for a policy can do so on the company's website. Liberty Home Guard does not require consumers to have a home inspection in order to finalize contracts.

Contracts canceled within the first 30-days of the policy are eligible for a full refund. Should a consumer require optional add-ons, LHG will send the consumer a customized contract that includes optional add-on language, and the consumer has 30 days to review that language at no cost as well. In other words, all customers are entitled to a full money-back guarantee during that 30-day period.

Project management entitles users to Liberty Home Guard's wholesale discounts on parts, appliances, and labor, and it enables users to have Liberty source their in-network technicians to perform repairs. Also, if a customer has an existing policy with coverage expiring in less than 30 days from the purchase date, Liberty Home Guard will expedite the start date of coverage to overlap with prior coverage.

Reputation - 4.5 / 5

Liberty Home Guard stands out for being the BBB's only A+ accredited home warranty company, which speaks volumes about their customer satisfaction and overall company reputation.

Although Liberty Home Guard is not an NHSCA member, the company is currently in the process of acquiring its membership with the association. The company is fully licensed, and pays service providers for same-day diagnoses, ensuring customers receive the fastest response times and high levels of service.

The company earns 4.3 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot, which is pretty impressive. Home warranty companies don't often fare that well on consumer review sites.

Liberty Home Guard recently debuted a new survey model which sources and analyzes feedback related to customers’ experiences with the company since they first sign up. The new model also asks for feedback from its’ network of independent technicians, to fully analyze the service process from all sides. This shows the company's continued focus on customer satisfaction.

Liberty Home Guard is the best I wanted company I've ever seen they're professionals who know how to fix things correctly the first time I have been working with them and they are Dynamite. Freddy Summers has helped me tremendously through the process everything I need to know about what I'm dealing with I would definitely recommend Liberty Home Guard

Joshua from their CS was really friendly and polite during our call. He knew their policy really well and told me ahead of time that the issue (accidentally melted a bunch of plastic tupperware in our oven) I had would not be covered. He then went ahead and got us a contractor from their network, and more importantly, with their prices anyway and I ended up saving $500 replacing our oven

Our heating system was making a ton of noise so we filed a claim and got a notification that a technician would be at our home at 9am the next day. After about 45 minutes of looking through the system, he said he found the problem and replaced one of the parts and tightened a few screws or bolts I think. Regardless, he and Liberty both worked very quickly and their service was very professional.

From my sales process with Eric to their customer service agents, I’ve spoken with Jasmine and Annie so far, their team is clearly well trained. They have good processes in place to ensure fair payouts for claims. I don’t like that they push me to use their app on my computer but otherwise my thoughts on the company are overall positive.

Unless you are a 360 handyman, you definitely should go with their service. It’s just an easier way to do repairs that also saves you money. Really a no brainer. All their workers are high caliber and their call center, based on my experience, is made up of well-trained, competent individuals. You really can rely on them.

LHG is by far the easiest warranty company to work for in my opinion. Claims are paid when services are rendered. I have never come across and unhappy customer. After working with them for a little while, I was contacted by Freddy Summers about becoming a tier one technician for the company and advancing our business relationship. He made the process easy and this boosts the number of calls we receive from the company. I would recommend LHG to contactors and homeowners.

I’m very unhappy with with resolution from Liberty Home Guard regarding my 26 cu. ft. side-by-side refrigerator. Instead of offering to repair it, they recommended replacing it. LHG believes a suitable replacement was offering a 18.3 cu. ft. top freezer refrigerator or $500. While the company decides not to replace like-for-like products (brand, model, features), it’s unsatisfactory to believe that I should downsize my needs from a 26 to an 18.3 cu. ft. refrigerator. I believe they should replace it with a 26 cu. ft. refrigerator. Nothing precludes them from using good common sense and ensuring customer satisfaction.

I purchase a 5 year total home guard policy for $7399 in 11/2021. Since then i have found 1. no claims have been met with an item deemed 'repairable', 2. I was offered replacement appliance at 'wholesale price' which was consistently no more than 1% lower than the prices avail online on sites like amazon and I had to pay for install and removal, 3. technicians often were unreachable despite multiple email and phone attempts. Within the past month, an electrician stood me up twice after I took off work to meet them (and they never called), 4 they are blatantly dishonest. I have chats and voice recordings documented consistent lies over the replacement' unfixable' hvac that cost me over... Read More
