Overall Rating: 4.8 / 5 (Excellent)

OneGuard is a well-established company that offers a premium product at a good price and serves customers in the states of Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. It has a significantly better than average reputation and offers services that many of its competitors do not, such as pest control, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, lawn care, and HVAC tune-ups. Given its location in some of the hotter parts of the United States, One Guard puts special emphasis on air conditioning service and repair while still offering a broad range of home warranty services.

OneGuard's menu of home warranty options is broader than that offered by traditional home warranty companies. Rather than only paying to fix or replace things that break or wear out, OneGuard offers preventive maintenance contracts that are designed to keep a house's systems, appliances, lawn, and windows in good condition. This makes the company an excellent choice for people in search of turn-key total home maintenance solutions.

Coverage Options - 5 / 5

In addition to providing coverage for the usual systems and appliances, OneGuard also provides services that aren't usually part of a home warranty package, such as pest control, window and carpet cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, lawn care, and system tune-ups.

The company's mid-range and premium plans include home security systems and monitoring. Consumers can customize their plans by adding coverage for additional appliances and systems and for items like automated sprinkler systems, pool spas, the main-line plumbing problems. This range of services is well above what is offered by many other home warranty companies.

OneGuard is accredited by the BBB and has an A+ rating. It also has numerous comments on the BBB site, over 80% of which are positive. This is very unusual in the home warranty industry, since as a whole, the business tends to attract sharply negative comments. There are over 130 complaints about OneGuard on file with the BBB, but these cover a three-year period. Further, it appears that the company is very responsive to both reviews and complaints, which is an encouraging sign. The company has no reviews or complaints on Trust Pilot.

OneGuard has been in business since 1979, making it one of the older-established home warranty companies.

I've recently had my faucets replaced by One Guard. It was not a good experience. On their website it states that One Guard will cover up to 250 dollars per occurrence. What they really covered was only 100 dollars per faucets. The reason for this is because it was the price that the plumber had quoted. The problem was, what the plumber had on hand did not match what was in my house. I was expected to take it or take the value he quoted to One Guard, which was 100 dollars. This was not an option so I choose the partial cash out. This is where you buy your own faucets and One Guard will pay you back and cover the installation cost. This sounds reasonable until you find out that... Read More

Called out to fix/repair AC. The guy told One Guard that the lines were clogged and therefore not covered. However, on the invoice/estimate that the repair guy left me, he said that the entire system needed to be replaced, and it would be about $5000 (of course, not covered). A few months later (AC not needed in winter), I called out another person, not related to One Guard. He quoted me $200. A friend and I went to Lowe's and bought a can of condenser coil cleaner ($7), thinking it's a good place to start. Everything now works great. At no point did anyone think to tell me that the coils needed to be cleaned. Now, no issues at all: works great. Only one time that I called One... Read More

There is absolutely nothing positive that I will ever say about OneGuard. They are shady operators, who hire sub-par contractors, and then refuse to honor the contract that they have written. Buyer beware, you won't be getting the service or repairs that you are paying for. Here is why... Back in September, I called in because my heat pump system wasn't operating correctly, and I told them that it was low on refrigerant. They sent out a company that only dumped some refrigerant in, without determining why it was low. This company didn't even charge my system correctly. Then in December, I had to call OneGuard again for the same system, because the heat wasn't working. I said... Read More

I give them two stars for the service we received. Sometimes they lived up to their promises, often times, more than not they sent out less than stellar companies that were not up diagnosis or repair, more than once we’ve had to call for more repairs after misdiagnosis or shoddy repairs. They will look for any opportunity to deny a service request. When I argued with them about a denied claim I was told they had spent enough money on repairs quoted a total of the repairs I had gotten ( not of course including the many times we had to spend additional hundreds fixing or properly diagnosing a problem). According to my math they still made a tidy profit from the years I paid premiums.

This company is a typical rip-off. I had this company that was included in the sale from the seller when I purchased my home. Our Bosch dishwasher had a board go bad. Spent the $69 for a tech to come out, find the board was bad. Three days later get told that they can't get the board, so OneGuard has to replace the dishwasher. OneGuard contacts me but won't replace it with a Bosch, just a builder grade that is 1/2 the cost of a Bosch. We have to eat the rest. Next time, we have a water supply line bust. City shuts off water. We have a plumber come out to see what it will take to fix (we have zero water to the house) on a Thursday. Call OneGuard, they say they will have their... Read More

WORST COMPANY... They create more service for you to pay Called my warrant company for service. 3 out of 4 times they called "All Star Pool Service" and EVERY TIME there was a new issue. They create their next service call.... if you want to continue to have issue and NEVER get your issue resolved, call this company. It is NOT worth the $.

Extremely poor customer service experience. No access to customer service reps from phone. Had to do web chat. Charged me for service request I canceled the same day and then I had to wait 3-5 business days for a refund. I will not be renewing my home warranty contract with them when it expires in 11 months. I don't recommend this company to anyone.,

This company deserves zero stars - but that was not an option. We have been with this company for over eight years & had to cancel as air conditioner was not working & they refused to have it repaired. They always try to get out of things, always making up excuses as to why they decided not to repair broken item that is stated is covered in the contract. This time it was the condenser that simply needed replaced, but they said no they will not due that again then making up an additional excuse that the coils were dirty & would not cover the part since the coils were dirty. Then they said well you need a new A/C which we are also not going to cover because the coils are dirty. Therefore... Read More

This is the worst home warranty ever .I have been having A/c issues since the beginning of May. Their Contractor Mr. Goodguy have come to my house at least 4 times and after about $1000 in out of pocket expenses they finally say the coil is leaking. I had already told one guard about this leak because my independent contractor told me this after his initial diagnosis in May. As I type this note I have been on the phone with one guard for about 30 minutes with Alisa an authorization specialist who cold heartedly told me they will not put me in a hotel while they figure out about reimbursement because I said I have 2 units instead of 1. This company is a scam. Ready to steal money from... Read More

Be sure and read the reviews as I wish I would have before I went with this company. I will never use OneGuard again and I will be sure and tell All of my friends how they were not helpful and how long it took to get a repair guy to my house. They refused to help pay and even after I offered to pay half or even a quarter of it they would not help with any of it but yet calling me and sending me letters to renew $ 1,100.00 with them. Not happening .. did my homework this time.
