Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Worst home warranty company ever! Had issue with a 4 year old KitchenAid refregerator that the water was coming out when you pushed the ice switch. Service man came out and said that it needed a new board but it also needed a new gasket that was allowing water to leak on the board. SHW would only pay for the board and not the gasket that was causing the board to go bad and they wouldn't pay the labor to fix it. Then we had a 4 1/2 old garage door opener stop working. They couldn't get anyone to come out to repair it. The company that installed it when our house was new said they stopped selling/servicing the brand (Marantec). I woke up (Saturday morning) to a flooded garage bc hot water heater burst. I have been calling and submitting claims with no response. They voicemail says they are experiencing high caller volume and some will all me back. I have been waiting for over three hours and counting. No water in my house. They state I can submit a claim 24/7 but I guess they only respond Monday thru Friday. I'm frustrated and looking at spending the weekend with no water! Can't leave bc of pets. Very disappointed. I paid for my contract upfront no payout. I expected customer service 24/7. I will not renew with this company. If you have the time to wait when an emergency occurs then by all means this is the... HOME OWNERS BEWARE! Don't waste your hard earned money on this home warranty. 2-10 insurance or Old Republic will give you better service and a piece of mind than Select Home Warranty.This company had a representative call in July of 2016 his name was Edward. I asked if several things were covered and I was assured several times that it was. I was comparing them to (our insurance at the time 2-10). He stated that you won't have to pay anything out except a deductible depending on which one you purchase (We purchased the top one)but I am here to tell you it is a flat out con to get your money. My fiancé and I had A/C issues. We were continually having to have it serviced.... Read More

I've been using SHW for two years now and I am shocked at how quick they are to send out a contractor from the network and follow up to make sure the job is done to my satisfaction. I have been blessed to get some really great workers come and fix my issues. Thanks Select for doing your job well for me.

The claim we filed was done really quickly and was directly straight forward. They arived promptly after a day and quickly identified the problem we were having. Every time I have called SHW they have been really patient-polite and helpful. Once in a while I have received longer wait times on phone and for my technician to arrive but other than that I stronly would recommend them.

Efficiently diagnosed my problem on the 3rd and came in on the 5th with the proper parts to repair my Sump Pump. Incredibly hospitable as was the dispatcher on the phone. I would certainly say they are a good place with a good network.

I have been super happy with the Select Home Warranty platinum care plan overall. I have made several claims in 5 years and other than one negative experience with a roofer(which they rectified), they have pleased me.

Select Home Warranty has been serving my home with their platinum program for 4 years now. I make on average 1 claim per year and they always call me back and make a quick appointment for me. Other than the $45 I pay everything has been covered.

Our service call was handled with the utmost care. They were very prompt in getting a service call number out there and assigned a contractor to our home. When Select came they worked fairly quickly and meticulously cleaned the premises when they were finished.

Submitted the request for service for my gas furnace on the telephone. I received a call at 3:30 and by 6pm he came. He needed a part and called a local shop and got it right before closing and fixed the furnance that night. He was cordial and friendly. Well Done.
