Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

The service provider is good and professional but the AC technician needs some training on his customer attitude.

HORRIBLE SERVICE--I purchased two policies from them this year, one for my house and one for my daughter's house in Missouri. In May of this year, my daughter's AC stopped working. She called the company and did not receive a call back for 5 days. At that time, she was told that they did not have any service agents that could see the unit for weeks, and that she should find a repairman herself which she did. The repair estimate was about $900. The company has done everything to get out of fixing the unit, asking for three years of maintenance records, even though they had only been in the house for about 2 1/2 years, and using every bit of fine print in the contract to say that they... Our refrigerator stopped working and we called Select Home Warranty. Their technician came over and in about 15 min told us that the problem is the compressor. Than we found out that since it's a part of the sealed system our home warranty doesn't cover it. OK, we called Sears to repair it. We paid $164.30 for their diagnostic and after they spend more than an hour they found that the problem is not a compressor but main circuit board which should be covered by our home warranty. And cost is $755.10 to repair it. After numerous phone calls and emails to Select Home Warranty they offered $125 for replacement or repair (our choice). After many days and many hours (four today) and submitted dispute with Visa I received a call from Dave, Manager Billing. He politely listened to my experience of the days and hours of issues I experienced. I told him I didn't want to hear "I'm sorry anymore, I want resolve". He did resolve the issues by authorizing a refund. He said he was going to investigate the 8 days and "hours" of the difficulties in trying to resolve the refrigerator repair. I will take him at his word he will follow through and hope they review business practices. I've received one refund promptly and just awaiting the other. As a result I have increased the 1 start to 3 stars for issue resolved.

Had a terrible experience with them. Contacted them about a worn air conditioning fan motor that froze up and was asked to provide maintenance records. When I explained I had just purchased the house a few months earlier was informed that they would only cover a small part of the replacement cost. This was after waiting 2 days for someone to check it out and they could not replace it until it was authorized which would take a few more days and this was in the hottest time of the year. I cancelled immediately and paid to have the replacement done. Was told I would get a refund on the policy which never showed up. Stay away from these folks.

Some of the phone wait times were a little much for me when my clothing dyrer broken down. They did fix the unit fairly quickly once a rep came down

A good experience with my Home warranty. All that was needed by my washing machine was a relay replacement. The work horse was back on the job within a few hours.

I have good experience with the home service with problems getting resolved in 1-5 hours. I am now moving out and the good part is that the home warranty will be transferred to the new owner for the remaining period of the contract. Kevin
