Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

Even though appliance and system repairs are often unexpected, ServicePlus' flat rate $75 service fee makes budgeting for home repairs a little bit easier. Some home warranty companies work use a scale to price service calls. We appreciate the predictability the company's service fee structure provides.

We had an issue with our A/C unit. When we called Total Home Protection, they were on it right away. Within few hours I got a call back from them saying the contractor has been assigned. He was on time with all the tools on his truck. The person sent out was licensed and knowledgeable about many A/C systems and was able to fix our problem immediately. We appreciate the promptness and attention provided by Total Home protection. I paid only my deductible..

I’ve been an exceptionally fulfilled customer of theirs for quite a while. They are responsive, and entirely accommodating with regards to completing fixes. The contractor workers I've worked with from this organization are really quality, and expert. I will keep on using them to benefit my home..

I entered a claim for my air conditioner compressor unit outside because the condenser fan would not run. Two days later and my air conditioner has been repaired. I think that is very good response time and am very satisfied with the service.

My water heater broke on Jan.24,2019. To date it has not been resolved. I have called daily to asked for an update. It's winter with the temperature as low as 30s some days and not having hot water is unlivable when one is elderly. Today, Jan. 31, 2019, I called again to follow to inquire as to the status of my water heater and I was informed that the replacement request from the service company has not even been reviewed. So this means that hot running water in my house is not even possible in the near future because Total Home Protection Home Warranty has not approved for a new water heater for my house. Is that because this company is wearing me down is hopes that I will come down with... Read More

I am A contractor that worked for Total Home protection and have not been paid since September of last year. I have called about every 2 weeks since and have had the worst customer experience i have ever encountered. Filed a clam with the BBB. I also worked with 4 other Home warranty companies and from a contractor stand point Old Republic Home Warranty is by far the best. Im starting to think that they dont have money to pay there contractors.

Called multiple times to obtain service, they all reply that's not a covered service or not a normal wear and tear, terrible service, the worst of the worst. Do not purchase a warranty from this company.
