Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

Why I chose Total Home Protection: Easy to Access Contracts: If a company is to be considered to have a great home warranty, a company had to share its sample contract for me to study at leisure. You shouldn’t have to call a company, endure a sales pitch, and submit your primary email address just to see the company’s coverage details. Total Home Protection was really accommodating because when I requested to see a sample, they were eager to provide it and even offered to have one of their reps go through it with me. Clear terms: It’s important to read the fine print of a home warranty contract before you sign, because it’s the small details that determine what happens when something... Read More

Recently the part of my fridge that kept my fridge cool broke. This meant not only did I have to figure out how to repair my fridge, but I also had to scramble to find somewhere to put all my groceries so they wouldn't get spoiled. Luckily I had my home warranty and a friend with a spare fridge in his garage. Thanks to the home warranty I was able to get my fridge repaired quickly and without being too costly and thanks to my friend I still had most of my groceries. It definitely pays to have the home warranty and a friend with an extra fridge haha.

I purchased home warranty just to be safe because I was buying my first home. I didn’t think I’d need to use it so soon. This past weekend my air conditioner stopped working I called the company immediately and they hastily sent someone out to fix it. It was great how fast and flexible they are. When I was purchasing, they also worked with me on the price since I had just moved into my home and my funds were low. I recommend purchasing home warranty because you never know what may go wrong in your home and you don’t want to use outside companies that will charge you three times as much as your home warranty company will.

Two weeks ago, I ran into a problem with my washer. The water was not properly running and it kept making a bustling and rattling sound. There was definitely something wrong with it. As you can imagine, I started thinking about how much this was going to cost me if I didn't have my home warranty. That is when I took a deep breathe and called Total Home Protection and was able to have someone come by to see what the issue was. The fix was simple, and covered, according to the tech. He fixed it within an hour and my washer was up and running like new. The tech was very helpful and kind. I can't imagine not having my home warranty.

This morning I was surprised to find out that my refrigerator was completely off. I called Total Home Protection and to file a claim. Sean arranged for a technician to come out the next day. He arrived on time and was very friendly. When I answered the door he was polite and introduced himself to me and showed me his ID card. I went ahead and explained the problem to him, even though he had the paperwork in front of him and then started working on the refrigerator. The repairman took almost an hour and a half to fix the problem. When he was done, he called me over, and told me exactly what was wrong with the refrigerator and that it was working on. I do have to say that I was very... Read More

I couldn't believe it when I woke up one morning and my air conditioning wasn't working. It was so hot I couldn't take it. Thankfully since I got a Total Home Protection warranty when I got my house it was easy to fix the problem. I called the service line and they helped me and arranged for a contractor to come out. I had a technician out to my house later that afternoon and he fixed the problem with my ac unit and got it working again. All I had to do was pay the small service fee to the company and it was done. I'm so glad to know if something else breaks in my home it will be easy to get it fixed by making just a phone call.

I‘m a first time home owner this year and this is a big event in my life because I just have graduated college. I bought a little house on the quiet street in California. My mom bought me a home warranty as her present for my efforts. It’s from Total Home Protection extended home warranty's. I didn’t know how much it was going to mean to me until my air conditioner stop cooling and making a weird noise. It’s hot in California and I can’t live without it. I use it all the time. Mom told me to call Total Home Protection and use my warranty. That is why she got it for me. I spoke to James and he was really nice and really helpful. He arranged for service the next morning. The repairman was... Read More

It is such a bummer when your microwave goes out, especially when you're just coming home from work. Luckily I have Total Home Protection. I called customer service and spoke with Tyler and told him my situation (I need my microwave I'm starving.) He clearly understood and had a technician out the next day. The technician was very nice and was able to fix it. The exciting part is all I had to do was just pay for the deductible.

Having a company like this to back me up when the unexpected happens brings me peace of mind. They have taken care of all of my repair needs since I've lived in this home. The employees are fast, friendly, and competent and they really work with you to make sure you are keeping costs down. They have any array of coverage plans you can choose from, so you can definitely find something with your budget. Additionally, their selection of contractors is unbeatable. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. I have been a customer of Total Home for a while now and couldn't be happier.

I was still smarting from an extended battle with my insurance company years before. There were electrical issues in my home at the time, and my minor appliances (hand mixer, hairdryer, electric carver) were routinely blowing out and needing replacement. I can remember at the time wishing there were some sort of guarantee against utility malfunctions and even just normal wear and tear. I was somewhat skeptical when a friend suggested a home warranty...but it was her wise words I returned to several years later when I was closing on a new home outside Chicago. I was at the bottom of a hill and grew concerned with potential flooding because of the noticeable accumulation of rain water... Read More
