Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

Even though appliance and system repairs are often unexpected, ServicePlus' flat rate $75 service fee makes budgeting for home repairs a little bit easier. Some home warranty companies work use a scale to price service calls. We appreciate the predictability the company's service fee structure provides.

Toatl Home Protection was there when i needed them. When my hot water heater went out, i called them and they arranged for a service man to come over. After working on it for some time, he decided it wasnt going to work anymore. He placed a call to THP and they ordered me a new. It was installed a day later and we went back to normal. All it cost me was my decutible. I'm so glad i had the extend warranty. Thank you to THP and your great customer service.

I am a USAA member, and I saw this ad for a free quote. Upon checking a quote, I called in and the lady who answered was very helpful and explained everything I needed. I immediately signed up.

Discovered that my water heater was not working properly. I called into the customer service department requesting a technician to come out and service my water heater. The customer service representative was able to find a company that was able to come out that same evening. The technician discovered that the pilot light was ka-put! He was able to replace it and we had hot water again. All I paid was my deductible! Great customer service and technician. THANK YOU!

As the weather is crazy hot out, my AC was straining to try and cool the house down and it just couldn't keep up with it anymore. I called Total Home Protection to use my extended. Steve arranged for a service contractor to come to my home and check out the A.C. The A.C was almost out of freon, so the tech refilled it and cleaned the unit. After he cleaned It is nice and cool again which is great. This service only cost me my deductible, which is less than paying someone I don't know. This warranty is great!

When I moved in to our new home, we got an extended warranty with THP. When I found water on the bathroom floor recently, I called for help. Steven arranged for a plumber to come out and find the problem. There was a cracked pipe behind the wall. They replaced the pipe and fixed the hole in the wall that they made to get in. We are all good now. Great warranty.

I would definitely recommend Total Home Protection to all my family and friends. They make everything so easy and it is done in a timely fashion. I woke up in the morning to find my refrigerator broke once again. I immediately put in a claim online and they arranged for someone to come out out a few hours later. Frank Fixed my problem the first time around instead of other companies who have to send someone out multiple times to do a simple job. The best thing about this company was I only had to pay my deductible because there is no way I would have been able to afford the repairs any other way. Five stars to Total Home Protection.

My sister purchased her home in 2013. It was her first home so all she purchased was the normal home insurance. After she found out that we bought the protection plan from Total Home Protection, she asked us to look into a plan for her home. In speaking to an agent we were able to come up with a plan my sister not only can afford but also give her the protection she needed for her home she worked so hard for. Her extended warranty was able to replace her hot water heater when it died a few months ago. It was deemed dead, so she worked with customer service to select a new one and have it installed. The agent made the claim process was so easy and simple and the work was done on time and... Read More

I was skeptical, but my parents insisted that I have a home warranty plan as a first-time homeowner. I am so glad I listened. Six months into my warranty, at the worst time possible, my hot water heater went out. It was the worst time because I had guests visiting from out of state. However, having my home warranty plan made it possible to have it fixed the next day. I called the claims department late in the evening and the next day a service contractor came out to check the problem. He said it could not be fixed because it was too old and out of code. He spoke to THP to confirm and they helped me choose another one. He left and came back with the new one. He had it installed and up to... Read More

When we bought our home last year, my husband and I went back and forth as to whether we needed a home warranty or not. We called a lot of places comparing prices and gathering info about what each company offered in their warranties. But after speaking to our Total Home agent, we were convinced that they were the right company to go with and had peace of mind that our home would be protected all around. They have never let us down and always treat us with the utmost respect!

My usual day was busy but on that particular day I had to double time my home chores because we were traveling to the Philippines. I was busy putting in and out of clothes to wash and dry when all of a sudden the dryer quit working on me. I immediately called my husband and asked for help. He told me to call Total Home Protection to check if they can help us. I called the company and told them about what happened. Thank goodness the dryer was covered for a warranty repair as well as the washer and most of our valuable appliances at home. They arranged for somebody and checked the dryer. It was not repairable. They helped me choose a new one, which was delivered the next day. I am happy... Read More
