Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

I submitted two claims for my dishwasher and A/C recently. My experience when I submitted a claim to Total Home Protection was wonderful. The company has absolutely fantastic customer service representatives. I called at 10am and shortly after I was set up with two separate appointments for technician visits. They both arrived on time (surprise!), and did a fabulous job doing the necessary repair work once verifying with Total Home Protection that my claims were covered. I recommend this company to anyone. This is an awesome product they have

True bait and switch. Stay far away from these people if you can, or be aware of their limitations. Their "no questions asked" cancellation policy will end up cost you money if you're not happy with them. Out of 4 claims, one was handled correctly. The main issue is their exclusions. For example, how do you get a garage door opener repaired with these exclusions: "NOT COVERED: Garage doors; hinges; springs; sensors; chains; travelers; door track assemblies; rollers; lights; keypads; wall buttons; remote receiving and/or transmitting devices." And if your clothes washing machine isn't working, a $300 "buyout" is not going to get you much. And if your pool pump springs a leak due to... Read More

Timothy was very helpful and explained all programs. We hope we don't need the services, but if so we hope it works. Can you send a paper copy of the contract? Thanks

Thanks to Total Home Protection i didn't have to worry about high prices to fix my refrigerator. It was covered under the warranty that I have with them. They were able to arrange for a contractor to come out later that afternoon to see what the problem was. It seems there was a problem with a coil, which he fixed. It started cooling again right away. I only had to pay a deductible and he saved most of the food. Barbara in customer service at THP was super nice and helpful as well.

When we moved into our new home earlier this year we got an extended home warranty policy with Total Home Protection for the unintended surprises that may come up with an older home. When our hot water heater gave out, I was so glad we had the warranty. We called THP for assistance and they scheduled someone to come and look at it. The pilot light was not working anymore, so the replaced it. The tech was very nice and clearly knew what to do. All I had to pay was my deductible. I am going to renew this warranty in November.

When I realized that it was time for me to buy a home warranty, I was lost and confused, to be honest. I didn't even know that I needed one! Luckily, I talked to a friend and she guided me to your company! I just want to say that everything was explained to me in great detail, which I needed. I no have outstanding coverage and my appliances are even covered! The cancellation policy is fantastic too! I couldn't have asked for me! Thanks for being so awesome, guys!!

A broken washer means disaster in most homes, and that disaster happened to me, when I had to wash my son’s school uniform for his picture day at school. My washer wouldn’t spin, even though the tub was filled with water. I heard a hum but no agitation. I called Total Home Protection and fortunately they were able to schedule a repairman to come and fix it. He replaced the motor and the capacitor on the machine. He also cleaned the hose and double checked on everything till it finally worked again. Thank you THP for your excellent customer service.

Earlier this year I needed the HVAC system in my house repaired, not to mention some bathroom plumbing. I contacted Total Home Protection, finally, after having my warranty for over 6 months and never using it. I'd like to talk about the experience I had most recently, in which my plumbing was repaired. I was pleasantly surprised by how quick the claims process was. They sent out a technician who was professional, polite and he was very knowledgeable. After a thorough inspection, the technician told me that he needed a few parts to fix the plumbing, and I was able to make an appointment for him to return. Mid-next week, he was back with the parts and did the necessary repairs. Very great... Read More

I was out of the country for 4 months on a job assignment. When I came back home, I found that my toilet had been leaking the whole time and was no longer working. I tried to figure it out myself, but, nothing I was doing was working. I made a call the next day to THP. They sent a technician out to repair the leak, evidently it was an average problem and not too serious. I’m glad I only had to pay my deductible and I didn’t have to worry about finding a technician that was dependable and helpful. He sent me a text message to confirm the house call and another when he was on his way. It was a very easy process.
