Overall Rating: 3.4 / 5 (Very good)

WebWatcher is an excellent parental monitoring app, allowing parents to monitor a device discretely from a secure online account. It is compatible with all 5 key operating systems (Android, iOS, PC, Mac & Chromebook). WebWatcher's stand-out feature is its Alert Log tool. This feature scans all recorded data and uses proprietary filters to identify and highlight items deemed to be risky behavior. Parents receive real-time alerts of all identified risky behavior, which means they can focus their attention on only important items. All recorded data is available for review at any time, but it is up to the parent to decide how much they want to see. The company also offers 24/7 customer service via phone, e-mail and live chat, to ensure the best experience for their customers.

WebWatcher Features & Services

Features & Services - 4.8 / 5

WebWatcher records text and private messaging content, social media, web browser history and searches, photos, GPS locations visited and more. For Android, PC, Mac, and Chromebook, parents will be able to view data in real time. For iPhone, it sends information once a day to the parent's user interface. WebWatcher provides monitoring for multiple social media apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Kik, Viber, and, unlike competitor apps, dating website Tinder. The app uses algorithms that automatically scan children's digital activity for risky terms that can lead to problematic issues. This enhanced feature allows parents to focus on only relevant items and is especially useful for parents who do not have time to review all data or wish to respect privacy boundaries.

Webwatcher is a fraudulent company. Two years ago I signed up for their service. They were never able to provide what they promised. I spent over six hours on the phone and with online web chats trying to "fix" the reason why their software never worked with their incompetent technicians. They could not deliver anything they promised. Being angry with them and frustrated as most would be that had the sort of experience I had, I canceled their rotten non working service and demanded a refund. They refused to provide it, and now, two years later, I discovered they had the audacity to try and charge another subscription fee to my credit card which I just had reversed. This company is a... Do not use this company if you are using it to monitor a chromebook. If you need to make any changes to your current configuration that requires a chromebook reset, they say that violates the license. I had two chromebooks that were misconfigured for active directory synch and they denied the reset after I had to reset the chromebooks. I was planning on buying many other licenses but they apparently don't like money.

Avoid this scam! My experience couldn't be worse. They advertise "risk free" but have a complex refund policy. Even if you follow it, they don't give the money back. They charge your card $129.95 immediately even though they say it will be a "risk free" trial. I notified them within 24 hours that the thing wasn't working. Irony that a company that acts like it is there to help with online safety is, itself, an online scam. Don't wast your money!

This is a scam! The Cust Service that is supposed to help set it up is a joke. It says to wait 24 hours in order to see anything but I couldn't 3 days later. They say to try risk free but when I tried to cancel on the 3rd day, they wouldn't let me. They want your money. They could care less if they make a customer happy!

I would give them negative stars if possible. I had the same experience as a couple of the reviewers below. In order to “Try it Risk Free” you need to give them a credit card and pre-pay for either 1, 3 or 12 months. Like a dummy, I chose 3 (for $59.95). Once I installed it and realized my son and I have be on the same WiFi network, I asked for, and was denied, a refund. My son is a 24 year old autistic adult, whom I have legal guardianship of, but he lives a block away from me and often visits me while his phone is charging at his apartment. In his effort to find a girlfriend, he has been the victim of many online scammers and and has had his identity stolen by very convincing (to him)... Read More

Cannot believe the pricing model. I signed up for a year for $130 thinking that I would be able to add multiple devices for my child. Now, months later, I go to add a 2nd device to figure out that they charge you this insane rate to manage a single device. NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE DURING SIGNUP. LOOK FOR REASONABLY-PRICED ALTERNATIVES.

DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE. Absolutely the worse software that you can buy. I caution any parent to not use this program. They like to tell you what the software can do but when you purchase it, you find out that it doesn't do what they say it does. Then when you request a refund they don't give you your money back. If I could give this negative stars, I would. I only gave it a half star so that I could post my review.

Totally disappointed in this app. After numerous calls with customer support over the course of several weeks, I finally got the person helping to admit that it will only work if you are both in the same house on the same wi-fi, at the same time. This is not made clear in the advertising. I spent an inordinate amount of time with customer service trying to make it work only to find this out. Please make clear in your advertising as well as the 30 day "free trial" which is actually $39.95. With the auto pay, I was charged another $39.95 for another month. The refund policy is within 3 days. Really? I give it 0 stars for the app, management and customer service.

I have to say I have never submitted a review but I felt I should warn people. My perception is this is a very shady and greedy company with no customer service skills. I signed up for a free trial, however my computer spun and spun not going through. I gave up thinking maybe it was a sign that I didn’t need it. I never received an email to advise an account was activated or welcome email with user name and password which you would always get if you signed up for something. My husband handles the credit card statements and I just happened to see our bill seeing Webwatcher. I contacted them immediately talking to support chat who acknowledged I had never gone into the site indicating... Read More
