HughesNet does provide a generous amount of data across its plans. The company practices a Fair Access Policy that regulates the amount of data usage for each customer. It limits the amount of data uploaded or downloaded with a one-month billing period. Customers who exceed this limit can experience a reduction in internet speed.

*** Speeds are not guaranteed. Monthly Data is the sum of the Anytime and Bonus Zone. Actual speeds during the Bonus Zone period will likely be lower than speeds indicated.

Was with Hughesnet for a total of 5 years. Only reason I stayed was that there were no alternatives in the area. First 2 years by contract. Last 3, month to month. When I cancelled the service to go to Starlink, they were unwilling to prorate the bill and just charge me the difference to the cancel date. This is a horrible company to deal with all the way around. Connection is very slow, data limits are very low for the cost. extra charges on the bill, and unreasonable to prorate the final bill.

Be aware of cancelation fees of more than $600 even if your internet doesn't work. If you cancel after 30 days they will charge you $600+ ! HORRIBLE & UNETHICAL!

I don't understand how people can give this company a good review, unless they just got service installed and are just happy to have something called internet. The service this company provides is horrible. You can't watch a movie without it buffering incessantly, and that's on a clear day. Don't even bother on a bad day. When I signed on, the rep offered me a 1-year contract or a 2-year contract. I said I wanted a 1-year contract. When I canceled this service early due to another provider offering better service at a much more reasonable cost, HughesNet charged me for 17 months left in my contract and denied that they even had a 1-year plan. And I'm not even going to get started on their... Read More

0 Star. Horrible company. My modem went out. I paid for the service contract. I will get a newer model modem. Several times (at least 5 ) i requested no upgrade in service. Customer service agreed every time 'no upgrade in service, just a new modem'. The notice of 'upgrade in service/higher cost' was emailed. However, I had no service (no modem) so I did not see the email till after I received the new modem. Of course I was upgraded in service and I can't go back because they only support G5 now, When I called that my new G5 service is as slow , slow as the previous service 'too bad'. During the next call I was told to receive G5 service I also have to upgrade/change the''gateway '... Read More

The worst internet since dialup. I have 20 g of data, it is gone in 3 days of the month. I just checked the SPEED when they lock it down. It was .25 mb. not 25 mb. download. It was 0 upload. Don't get it You will regret it.

Song and a dance. Have had satellite Internet before and Hughesnet is the worst. Moved in to new home had Hughesnet installed by the time I got network up and running had a hard time just pulling up email tried call Hughesnet tech support would be placed on hold and would be hung up on after hold about 5 to 10 minutes. Found out I was one day past my 30 day trial. So I’m stuck with this crap for two years. BEWARE

Ever since getting this service it has been painfully slow. The only thing it is good for is surfing the net. Certainly not anything close to clicking and the page opens immediately, but it takes a few seconds. If you want to watch a video on youtube, you will have to wait at least a min on short videos, anything longer than 5 minutes it will be a long time. It will constantly buffer making the user experience frustrating. Other times it will just freeze up and there's nothing you can do but wait. Basically, the main thing that is different from the old dial up is that you don't get the noise when connecting and pictures download faster. Other than that, you are back in the 80's....
