HughesNet does provide a generous amount of data across its plans. The company practices a Fair Access Policy that regulates the amount of data usage for each customer. It limits the amount of data uploaded or downloaded with a one-month billing period. Customers who exceed this limit can experience a reduction in internet speed.

*** Speeds are not guaranteed. Monthly Data is the sum of the Anytime and Bonus Zone. Actual speeds during the Bonus Zone period will likely be lower than speeds indicated.

Customer service is as bad as their internet reliablity. Internet installed in November, bought highest fastest package. Two weeks in no service, called got three different excuses and finally told I need to have a tech come out and readjust the satelgiht. Told the tech after he adjusted it I am still not getting the download speed I was guarenteed. My husband called in yesterday and told he would be charged over 400$ for cancellation when they are in breach of contract. I called again today and spoke with "kim" who could not speak English who interrupted me multiple times. I conveyed in the start of the call, "I need to speak to a manager so the original call with the salesperson can be... Read More

I am highly disappointed in my new service. I had verizon guarantee 40 GB and no slow down and switched because they said it will be just as fast. I work at home and it is crippling me it is so slow! I have had issues on internet, getting my acct to come up on hughsnet site, and no response on chat(waited 3 hours). I am very regretful!

If you can avoid this internet, then do so. It's slow, expensive and crooked. They lock you into a 2 year contract, then make you go through an entire billing cycle before you can cancel.

I strongly recommend you avoid HughesNet satellite internet service. Despite their advertising and salesman claims - It is no better than DSL, and sometimes it is not even as good as DSL. We have a home that does not have fiber access, and we used DSL service for several years. We tried HughesNet – the salesperson promised it would be “way better” than DSL. We used HughesNet for two years – unhappily. Movies constantly stopped for buffering on Netflix. Email and internet on my computer was slow – frequently slower than our previous DSL. I frequently used my phone with a couple of bars as a hot spot for email and internet search – this was faster than the HughesNet internet service.... Read More

Your internet is the worst in the world. I can't do anything with your internet. When I call to stop using you, you say I have to pay you more. And I will never use your internet again. Please close your company

Stay away from HughesNet SLOW internet… Stay away from HughesNet SLOW internet dial up was faster. They advertise 25Mbs coast to coast, this is false. I have had their service for over 6 months and I have Never gotten over 5Mbps. Their customer no service, level 4 service, has admitted they have a problem with their service but cannot fix it. I have spent endless hours on the phone with Hughes only to get the same run around. Their advertising is false, deceptive and possibly fraudulent. Considering a 'Class Action" law suite.

We live in an area where high speed internet was not available when we first arrived, so we got HughesNet internet to fill the gap--it seemed to be the most highly rated dish internet service. In hindsight, we should have just paid the extra fees for unlimited phone data/hotspot connections, because the internet from HughesNet was patchy and slow, even during "fast" periods. The worst part of our experience, though, was upon attempting to end our service after almost two years of being on-time customers. Unbeknownst to us, when you cancel your HughesNet, they expect you to return a part of the satellite dish that *a professional* installed **on your roof**. If you fail to do this, you... Read More

Worst service I have ever had. Went out daily, couldn't watch tv, had to go to coffee shops to work because it was so unreliable and I work form home. My hotspot on my phone actually provided better service. We called, but every time you call them you're on the phone for 30-60 min and nothing ever changed. Who has that kind of time. The we ended up moving in with my son who already had interview service and Hughes Net wouldn't let us cancel without the cancellation fee because they provided service in the area we moved to. Why would we have 2 services in the house and why would we tell our son who he had to use. They would not even consider negotiating the cancellation fee. And when I... Read More
