HughesNet does provide a generous amount of data across its plans. The company practices a Fair Access Policy that regulates the amount of data usage for each customer. It limits the amount of data uploaded or downloaded with a one-month billing period. Customers who exceed this limit can experience a reduction in internet speed.

*** Speeds are not guaranteed. Monthly Data is the sum of the Anytime and Bonus Zone. Actual speeds during the Bonus Zone period will likely be lower than speeds indicated.

fraudulent billing practices. Charged me a $125 non return equipment fee. I called a month later and they acknowledged they had received the equipment but would not refund the fee

How much is Hughnet paying you? WORST. PROVIDER. EVER. It's an ACTUAL scam. I'm a year from being able to get rid of it and that's already scheduled.

This is the worst internet I have ever had. I only got it because Verizon Fios was not available in my area. Whenever it rains or there is a storm, the internet does not work. For some reason that the Lord only knows, you run out of data in 4 days. We use it to check email, check Facebook, and watch youtube videos. When I had the lowest tier of Fios, I never had any issues like this. When you reach the data cap with Hughes, your internet is SO SLOW that you may as well not use it. No matter what data plan you choose with Hughes, you will get screwed. If you want to get out of the contract, it will cost you $350 to do so. This is the worst internet company out there. If you are smart,... Read More

By my own stupidity I apparently agreed to a 2 year contract with this company. Service was spotty at best, and generally i could expect to have a 2-3 sec lag+ time between web pages, and the need to pause any video content for 5-10 seconds before resuming. Service would often cut out entirely at times during any sort of bad weather. If I ever got 25M a sec that's debatable, but for a temporary rural satellite service i wasn't expecting much. But oh no my friends the real issue was the sneaky contract. When I went to cancel because i'm moving soon, they made sure i was now aware that i had signed that and are going to charge me 320$ to early disconnect. Rather than want to try and... Read More

When I signed up with Hughesnet it was my only option because of the area that I live in. I found the service to be "Ok" for general email and surfing the net. I was "Never" able to stream a movie, and often I could only get online if I was in the same room as my modem. My revelation of how bad the "CUSTOMER SERVICE" was came when I decided to sell my house and cancel the service. I was told by one of their "Service Reps" that I would have to return the receiver that was fastened to the satellite dish on my roof. When I told them that "that" was NOT going to happen because I was not going to climb up on my roof and physically remove their receiver, I was told that I would be subject... Read More

HughesNet recently changed the security level on my internet so that everything is being flagged as unsecured and it does not allow me to access any internet services. The internet has been spotty and often limited, but, I expect when I pay for a service to be able to use it. When I contacted HughesNet, their solution was to supposedly run a couple of tests remotely and then to say that I needed a new satellite and a new modem although both are less than a year old and that it would be my financial responsibility to pay for the technician for their labor and for their site visit. Seems like a scam to me. I am paying for a service I expect them to provide it.

This is the slowest and in the end will be the most expensive service everrrrrrr. We are paying the $400 early termination fee and unfortunately going back to combat for internet. I would tell anyone stay clear of Hughes Net satellite, worst lesson learned.

They ABSOLUTELY suck!! And they won’t let let you cancel without billing you did early termination even tho they CANNOT deliver what they promised. They just keep stringing you along promising to fix it, but it never happens, it’s just a huge inconvenience to keep complaining time after time and having to go thru the same crap over and over with the same crappy results.
