With 72 years under its belt, Lowe's has provided an array of home improvement products through the years, including major and minor home appliances, hardware, electrical, plumbing, paint and building supplies. The company only offers repairs and services to store-bought appliances, but with over 10 brands supported and an ample list of premium protection plan benefits, customers can confide in Lowe's ability to offer the services they need.

Lowe's Appliance Repair Services

Appliance Repair Services - 5 / 5

Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

Lowe's Additional Services

Additional Services - 4.5 / 5

Lowe's does not offer home improvement or home maintenance features unless covered by their appliance protection plan. However, they offer technician-certified installations for their appliances, and their protection plan offers various premium benefits, such as a 30% payback reward benefit in case you end up not using your plan for repair issues, and a 50% reimbursement on preventative maintenance items, such as water and air filters.

Lowe's Customer Service and Reputation

Customer Service/Reputation - 4 / 5

Lowe's is not BBB accredited, but it has an A+ on their website. As it's common with long-standing companies, Lowe's has a low score on review sites like Trustpilot. Lowes does not mention a satisfaction guarantee on their repair services, but it typically offers a 30 day return policy on appliance purchases, and free functioning parts and labor coverage on appliances as long as the problem is covered by the manufacturer's warranty or their protection program.

the problem is not repair the problem is getting thru to the warranty dept to get a repair. i called 3 times today-1st time they set me up on the call back and still had to wait a few minutes when thy called back but not a problem and was told to call back in an hour that the system was down-2nd time waited 40 minutes and was told the same as first time to call back in an hour-3rd time waited 36 minutes with no pick up and hung up. WHY was there not a message given at beginning of call to let me know system was down and to call back or they would call back when it was back up instead of waiting on the phone for over an hour plus for nothing?

We experienced a power outage during a thunderstorm in June 2020. When the power came back 3 days later, our 2-year-old Whirlpool washing machine was dead. An electrician told us that we had a power surge. We went to Lowes to replace and they told us that we had the 3-year Assurance plan and to file a claim since it was covered. I called the service number (1-hour hold) and explained the situation to the rep and she set up an appointment for service. The appliance serviceperson came and inspected the washer and told me that a board was burnt out and required replacing. He would order the part and would come back in a week. The next day I got a call from the serviceperson stating that... Read More

I have a Whirlpool fridge and it's ice maker is not working. I tried calling Lowes repair # and have been on hold for over 45 minutes and still get the message that someone will be with me momentarily, I have called Lowes customer service and get forward to the same no where phone # and I have the text service # and get an automated assistant that does no better job helping and tell you to call the Lowes service #. I get that things are different with Covid, but people still need appliances and need them repaired especially when they have purchased an extended warranty. I can't stay on the phone over 45 minutes waiting for someone to help. Lowes should have made some provisions for... Read More

I had a horrible experience with trying to get a technician to our house thru Lowe's extended warranty plan for our electric dryer. not only does it take over an hour for someone from Lowe's to answer the phone to book the repair, but then it got cancelled from SIS OH Inc. they then rescheduled and never called or showed up. an extended warranty for a lowes appliance is a total waste of money.

Absolutely the worst warranty service ever! I bought an expensive Samsung washer and had issues with it sounding like an airplaine. After a week SIS repair came to the house to repair the washer. He stated that normally he doesn't repair the tub and berrings and it is almost always an automatic replacement. It took a week to get the parts, another week to get him out here to repair those two items. Then he seemed to think the drainage pump was broke, ordered a new drainage pump and computer. Took a week to come in and another week to come back out to repair them. Repair guy basically left and told my husband and myself that it is broke and for us to call Lowe's. Called Lowe's they... Lowes warranty service is the worst I have ever experienced. The initial repair request was fine. A service technician verified the trouble and ordered the part. A new installation appointment was scheduled but the technician was a no-show. Never received a call or text message. Now, trying to call service, I get put on hold for 40 minutes each time before I hang up. I won't buy appliances at Lowes ever again.

Generally, I like shopping at Lowes and have used them for many projects, but I have been so extremely frustrated at buying a simple replacement part for my washing machine. 1. The assistant in the appliance area was rude and said "We don't sell parts, here" and handed me a business card with info. 2. I went online to Applianceparts.lowes.com and found the part. Even though it was a bit more expensive, I went with it since it was from Lowes. 3. I ordered it and it looked like it was going thru but there was no "Complete order" or confirmation email, etc. 4. The next day, I checked my order number to track it and it said there was no such order. But my credit card was "Pending." 5. I... Read More

LOWES ARE CROOKS AND THIEVES. BUYER BEWARE. Bought a Lowes 5-year extended warranty on a GE washing machine. Was told at the time of purchase of this warranty, if anything happens to the washer it will be repaired or replaced free-of-charge for up to 5 years. Washer broke after 4-years, 9-months. Called into Lowes and scheduled a service tech appointment. Service tech came to the house. Service tech states it cannot be fixed and is beyond repair. Will have to be replaced. I called Lowes to execute my warranty. Lowes says because I have well water, they will not honor the warranty. So here I am, no washer, warranty is worth LESS than soiled toilet paper and Lowes did not even... Read More

I spent two days calling Lowes store in Brooklyn NY. I was placed on hold for hours just calling the store. I got only ONE live person for 30 seconds, and she transferred me back into the system. What is wrong with the phone system there? Nobody answers the phone.

-0- Bought an extended warranty on GE washer and dryer from Lowes thinking Lowes stood behind what they sold. I have requested a repair for the washer and tho they have made 3 service calls it is still not repaired. This started on April 10th and was told today it will be May 26th before they will be back out. Lowes states they have no responsibility for the warranty. GE stated they have no responsibility for the warranty.
