Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

I looked up the the phone number for Lowes Warranty 88-775-6937 and I've been waiting 40+ minutes getting the message "We're still assisting customers, continue to hold and we will get to you momentarily." I will never buy a warranty from Lowes again!

After two months no repair and a second repair company is being called. National Repair Center LLC has been taken off the job and in my opinion they should be removed from Lowe's list of repair companies. How we got here: We called Lowe's early in July. Lowe's scheduled the repair company to arrive a few days later. Repair company cancels that appointment within a few minutes and ask us to supply all of the data we just provided Lowe's. We purchased the extended warranty on our Washer/Dryer and Refrig five years ago. Had an employee tell us about the warranty program and the 30% return if never used. Spent 40 mins on the phone only to be told that feature of the program did not begin until October 2016. It appears they have another month to change their plan again so they don't have to pay out! Never again.

Bought a 5-year warranty for our whirlpool refrigerator in 2018. Fridge was not maintaining a safe temp, but the freezer was working. I called Lowes and they said they had an opening the next day between 9 to 4. Two hours later, the contract repair company called and said they were overbooked and it would be about two and a half weeks. Seriously? I will never buy an extended warranty from a retailer again, especially Lowes. I'll buy directly from the manufacturer were we would have a choice of authorized repair companies. I will spread the word about this ridiculous "warranty" to everyone I know.

VERY BAD company to deal with on appliances. We purchased a full kitchen of appliances including a Whirpool Side by Side Refrigerator. They really pushed buying the extended warrenty, which we did, BIG mistake. The refrigerator, still under warrenty, has now been broke for 4 months. A & E has came several times and ordered parts. The parts arrive quickly, but their technicians are not so fast and twice they didn't even show up on their appointment day. It appears the technician just guesses as to what might be wrong as I have not seen him test anything. I have lost track of the hours I've been on hold trying to get things worked out to have the refrigerator serviced. Several times... Read More

I have an expensive extended warranty on an expensive refrigerater that stopped making ice. Called to a make an appt, spent countless time waiting. A few weeks later a contracted repair person came to the house, told us the part had to be ordered. He gave me his phone number when I asked him who I should call for follow up. He did not call back, so I called him. He then called and spoke to my wife. She did not tell me this information. So I called him back and was a bit unhappy with him. My husband and I purchased an LG Top-Load Washers Model number WT7300CW in December 2019, we also purchased the extended warranty that they offered thinking this would help if we encountered any issues. In the Spring of 2020 we started having issues with the washer and called to get an appointment. After getting the appointment with the Rep on the phone I took that day off to wait for the repairman but none came. I have called three times, had three different appointment and even called the repair people that were scheduled to come to get another appointment or some kind of communication going and no one has yet to reach out to me. The online scheduling system displays incorrect information limiting your ability to schedule repair online. To complicate this problem, the call center is seriously understaffed. I have been on hold for 4+ hours listening to music and we are sorry message. I am only holding on because I have unsuccessfully tried to get a callback over 5 times in the past 2 weeks. I would not recommend buying this coverage, given that you can't schedule a repair.
