Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

Waste of money. Bought all new appliances from Lowes with extended warranties. Pilot light stopped working on gas stove so called for service. Lowes gave me a date for service, but they really can't because the repair company calls later and sets the real date. Technician found broken wire (chewed by mouse) but did not have part with him and said he'd be back. Waited a few weeks and called back-found out my case had been closed because warranty did not cover mouse damage. Had I not called I would still be waiting. Lowes called back and offered to help me find a repairman since I was on my own. Could of at least informed me of this. Would have been nice if they told me the part I needed so... Read More

Terrible - washer started throwing a code a month ago, called the service center - sent a tech 5 days later, of course he came plugged it in and it worked, so he didn’t even check what the code was it was showing? Said to video it next time? 2 days later throws the same code!! Called service center again, 3 days later show up and look at it and said we will order a part- 1 week later called them to see when it might be in, 2 days later they have the part but can’t get here till 2 more days!! Finally come out- put a new brain in it, works great!! Guy tells me if it breaks down within 30 days call us direct. Starts throwing THE SAME CODE AGAIN 2 days later, call them direct and they say call... Read More

Be prepared to wait on the phone, wait for the service tech, wait for the parts, wait for the service tech again. Then, hopefully they will listen to you rather than submit incorrect information to the repair company.

Just bought Whirlpool dishwasher and it will not drain the water out. I can not get hold of store or any live person to answer the phone.

I'll preface my comments with the sad conclusion that we most likely don't have much choice but to use this plan if you purchased a major appliance from Lowes, but having said that, the process for Lowe's Protection Plan means long wait times on the phone, mismanagement of scheduling of service, and poor communication with the service provider once a day and timeframe has been set. In essence, if you have this plan, expect to spend a half day on troubleshooting regardless of a repair being major or minor. Frigdare Gallery Gas Oven repair complaint. Serviceman came 3/1 and diagnosed the problem being the control board and let us know that the parts would be in before the end of the month and scheduled the repair day as of March 30. We have not received the parts yet or call to update us. I cannot believe it takes that long to get a part. Maybe it is coming China? Wish I did not buy an oven that breaks down after 4 years....but l had a 5 yr contract so I guess I should be happy to not have my oven for a month.

So I bought a new LG direct drive top load washer from Lowe's Enterprise Alabama in July 2019 after the washer I had previously purchased from Lowe's Enterprise Alabama a Samsung top load was involved in a class action lawsuit due to a dangerous defect we decided to purchase a LG with the 3 year extended warranty. So the main control board started glitching and I had to unplug and reset every once in a while .So suddenly 2 weeks ago it had no power at all and wouldn't reset . So I called the Lowe's warranty line talked with a very nice lady who promptly set is up via email with a appliance repair company . If I could get the appliance repair service a zero I would. Our Maytag dishwasher is less than a year old and has failed in three areas. When we called the service department, a service man came immediately and diagnosed the problem. The difficulty arose in parts ordering. We have been washing dishes for over a month now and each time we call, we are told the parts are on order. The attitude seems to be one of uncaring and unconcern. At this point, we are going to go to Lowe's in person, during the pandemic, and see what can be done to fix or replace the appliance. New Maytag washer purchased; broke down within a couple of months; repairman has come four times to fix it but now it doesn't work at all. Contacting Lowe's is useless because they keep sending a repairman that doesn't know how to fix it. It's not even completely paid for yet and warranty runs out in June. Reported to BBB. Next up is a civil suit.

After a 1 1/2 years my GE over the stove microwave quit, I emailed Comerco that looks after the extended warranty and after several email I was given a service order number. It's now going on 2 months and the only thing I've gotten is a phone call that they are waiting for parts (what parts I don't know since they haven't been here to look at it). It's ridiculous that a company like Lowes doesn't look after their customer's service. If I had known how bad their warranty service is, I wouldn't have wasted my money.
