FAQs about Drones

Are there airspace restrictions on drones?

The short answer is: yes, there are. According to the law, drones are recognized as Unmanned Aircraft System and they must abide by certain rules. These rules are complicated and are specific to usage purposes, so depending on what you’re using your drone for, you need to research both local and federal laws. If you’re a recreational user, there are some general restrictions you should always follow: don’t fly your drone over 400 feet, don’t fly it over people, don’t fly it near an airport, don’t fly it close to a stadium or arena, and do not even think about flying it in Area 51.

Why are all battery lives so short?

Drones are very small objects, and they also have very small rotor blades. This means they pull a lot of power in order to actually get up in the air. And the bigger they are, the more powerful they have to be to be able to pull that weight. Also, lithium batteries themselves are very heavy, so adding more capacity means adding more weight, so the benefits are not going to be that noticeable. A 3200mAh battery might make your phone last 10-12 hours, but your phone doesn’t have to hold itself.
