Worst insurance when you really need them. Good luck getting into a good rehab in a timely fashion should you have the misfortune of a major accident or health crisis. This company is GREED before clients. Steer clear, lest you be burned. Your "health" is the last thing they care about.

My insurance was canceled due to New York State of Health stating that I have an open insurance policy with United Healthcare. They told me that to reinstate my insurance, I would need either a letter of cancelation or a letter that states that I do not, and have never had an open insurance policy with United Healthcare. I have been calling United Healthcare for over 4 weeks now. They tell me I do not have an active claim with them but the only person who can help get me the letter is a supervisor. Every single time they cannot connect me to one and they just state that a supervisor will call me to help me with the letter I require. A supervisor to this day has never called. I have been... I changed to UHC in January 2021. I was pleased with this insurance until I learned the hard way that they have policies against covering Opioid medications for over a 30 day prescriptions and you will pay the FULL cost for each 30 day supply. In my case I was paying $8.38 for a 90 day supply of 270 tablets. Now UHC wants $39.83 for just a 30 day supply of 90 tablets. Yes my medication is still available, but at an extremely inflated price that I am not able to afford to buy my badly needed medications from UHC. I am on a fixed income like so many other retired folks. In their latest 2021 Formulary list on pages 6 and 7 shows the steps required to get an exception to their rules.... Read More

I do not have United Health Care for Medicare Advantage, but my mother does. Because my mother is hard of hearing and has other unfortunate medical problems as well, I have been handling her appeals for wrongful denial of payment to doctors and other heath care facilities. My experience dealing with this company has led me to believe these people are greedy as hell and don't give a damn about the best medical interest of patients or the rightful interests of those who treat the patients. We have had to fight with these greedy people constantly to get them to pay for highly essential doctor visits and other... Read More

Great Benefit Emulators (See The Rainmaker novel/film). Mircromanaging my treatment plan and denying the prescribed meds because of the price alone. Despite the expertise of my specialists, after 3 years on the right combination of meds, Great Benefit, I mean UHC, wants me to try cheaper therapies that we have already tried without success. My health is clearly not their concern, just the cost of my health. Customer service reps: it's always a different dept that must handle some other detail, an endless wait to be transferred and an accidental disconnection during the transfer. Every time I call.

Your company disenrolled my 83 yr old mother without her signature. They called it. "Plan error". During the month of March, I had to deal with the uninformed, horrible customer service. I talked to 3 supervisors, separated days, on speaker phone with my mother. She gave verbal auth to speak on her behalf. 2 of the supervisors, William and Stefan assured me that she would be reenrolled, to be post dated to March 1st. Mom called to get her ID# and found out she was not covered at all. I rate your company lower than 0. Treating seniors like that. You should be ashamed

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with, even worse than businesses are located in the third world. They try to make your life hard in order to make you give up on appeal.

My doctor ordered a calcium scoring heart CT and I had an appointment set up for Friday and they had the information from my doctor Wednesday night and I called United three times Thursday but they never authorized the test so it had to be canceled and I have never had a CT, also my doctor rarely orders any tests for me except the annual preventative lab, and mammogram.
