Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the handling of my claim with Choice. They sent out one of their licensed and approved vendors to look at an issue I was having with my ac ducting. The AC specialist noticed there was a leak and it had caused some mold. Choice said they would not cover the cost to get the ducting cleaned because the unit was installed improperly. The vendor himself told me and told Choice home warranty that the unit was not installed improperly. The installation of the unit was fine. Each time I put in a request for service I am contacted within 1-2 hours, which is an amazing response time. The technicians they send out usually come within 1-2 days as well. I am very impressed with Choice HW. Prompt service is very important, and they deliver!

Submitted a claim first thing in the morning, received an automated confirmation call within 30 minutes. The contractor followed up a short time after and represented Choice in the best possible way. Service was outstanding and repair work was completed as arranged.

Calling Choice Home Warranty to submit a claim is simple. I got through on the line with no waiting, they gave me a claim number and the name and number of the service technician who would be taking care of me. I also received an e-mail with the above information and a phone call to be sure I had received all of the information. The service tech called, an appointment was made, a service call to repair the problem occurred and all is well. Very please with Choice Home Warranty. I have 3 properties with this company and they are taking care of any service problems that I have.

Choice quickly processed this, lined us up with a superior service provider, and we were able to immediately schedule within 4 hours of submitting the claim! And, they came out on Saturday - no time off work necessary. It was great! We love Choice warranty and will never be without their coverage!

When our bathroom sink backed up, I tried everything I could think of to fix it. Eventually, I caved in and contacted CHW. Two days later Jamie with Benchmark called me and asked if later that morning was good for me. A few hours later he was rotting out my line. Almost two hours later he finally succeeded in breaking though the clog(s). Things are running smoothly again and that has made my wife very happy, which in turn makes me happy.
