Choice Home Warranty offers a full array of home appliance and systems coverage at a competitive price. The company offers two plans for existing home owners —Basic and Total. In addition to a monthly premium, customers can expect to pay an $85 service fee each time they make a claim, which falls in low-to-mid range when compared to other home warranty companies.

You can submit a claim 24/7, including holidays, via phone, online, or app. The company utilizes proprietary technology to begin the dispatching process after a claim is filed. The company has recently updated their plans increasing coverage and has fewer limitations. Their plans and optional coverage can cover over 25 major systems and appliances.

Choice Home Warranty earns a B rating from the Better Business Bureau and has a positive rating on Trustpilot, but in this industry, negative customer reviews far outnumber positive ones.

Coverage Options - 4.5 / 5

Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. The company states that, in any case, its total liability for any single item is capped at $3000, but lower limits do apply to some covered items.

We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

I was given an appointment for a week later. This is the refrigerator not working in 110F weather. Of course nobody can wait that long, so I had to pay out of pocket for a repair urgently needed. So, you have been totally useless to me.

HomeChoice warranty is far from being at the top! I have 10 yrs experience dealing with warranties, Home warranty is: - Rude in customer service. People who barely speak English and is rude - Time consuming. Any call would be at least 1 hour long - Poor service. Bad quality of listed contractors - Terrible service. The "replacement" cost given for a broke item is less than 25% of the cost for replacement ... the costract on the website is 2 pages but then the list of exclusions is like 10 pages long. Contracting them is trowing, not only money but your mental health to the garbage! I'm looking ways to sue them

Corpus Christi Pools set up a time of 7am to 11 am on Saturday Sept. 9th to look at our pool issue. We are an older couple and normally do not get up until 7:30-8 am. We, however, got up at 6:30 just to be ready should they show at 7am. Waited all morning, no show and no phone call. I called their office about 10 am and only got to leave a message. No call all day. So much for service. Dee and Trisha Walker

I thought that choice warranty was a good deal til something went really wrong. My 2000 dollar crapped the bed. Your tech came out and was very nice and helpful. Told me that I needed a new compressor which is about 900-1000 dollars to replace. When he called it in I guess your department said not worth fixing. Which I can go along with that since it was about 15 years old. However the fact that u only wanted to give me 500 dollars towards a new one and only at a certain place. That is crazy. I feel that you should have at least given me the value of the compressor of 900-1000 dollars. I then had to call and beg for another 80 dollars. Like I said. I just think it is wrong

Thank you, Choice Warranty, for sending a technician out expeditiously, much appreciated. However, he didn't have to do anything, once we reset the unit he saw that there was nothing for him to do, so he said call him within 30 days if it happens again, we won't have to repay.

My air condition went out in May . I was told it needed to be replaced because of the compressor going out but Choice Home Warranty would not cover any of it . They told me that it was not old enough to be going out so it was not normal wear and tear. I went round and round with them without any resolution. I finally had to pay $8,000 out of pocket because of the temperatures in Texas. Then a month later my hot water heater went out. I am still trying to get this replaced. They said before they can do anything they need a second opinion. They have already sent THREE different companies out and they all say it needs to be replaced. This has been going on for over 2 1/2 months. I... Read More
