Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

It will not let me do 1 star. If I could I would. They all have the same scrip about we don’t do emergencies. I understand that but over a month to get someone to come out and fix your item is ridiculous. They find any excuse not to fix it and say read the contract for reasons things aren’t covered, which are many. Out of three things I put a claim in they only agreed to fix one. I will not be renewing with this warranty company.

I am in the middle of having my hot water heater replaced due to losing hot water. It was legit. I am retired and on a fixed budget. I switched to choice as they were slightly cheaper than who I had and sounded better. So monthly I pay nearly $90 for protection. I don't feel I am getting it from Choice. My water heater has quit putting out hot water. The technician they sent was outstanding, He was courteous, knowledgeable , and very professional. He recommended replacement since it rusted out and was leaking. Choice agreed to replace it... ALMOST. The process for filling the claim was very simple and quick, the technician was assigned and scheduled to inspect and fix the issue quickly, the technician was authorized to fix the issue quickly. Overall the process was extremely quick and painless.

I have a claim to replace my washer. The amount I will receive is $342. My problem isn't with the amount. I was advised it would be up to 30 days. The washers at Lowes and my 2nd choice store are on sale now. This is very inconvenient to me because of my budget. Claims funds should be released sooner
