Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I am not happy. I completed all necessary paperwork to get a reimbursement for my claim. I had a main line to the shower that leaked and flooded my bathroom. You couldn't find a plumber so after 36 hours I was told to find one. You denied the claim as preexisting for something that was not even required by State regulations. I had to pay and now have to mediate it. Not a good first experience. Also, not a good expectation for a customer to have water coming from the wall for 36 hours and told to give it more time. And will only allow you to rate it at no lower than very good 4 1/2 stars.

I recently joined CHW and was skeptical as to how the service and turnaround time would be in fixing my toilet stoppage. The very next day a technician was assigned to my property and the toilet was fixed. Thanks to CHWs timing, I was able to avoid significant damage from the toilet leaking and I was up and running in no time. So far, I think I made a great choice to changing from home warranty companies. I am not only paying less but the service has been very good! Thank you!!

choice was very helpful and immediate on their response to my claim.they gave me the option to find a tech and i was able to get one the next afternoon.the tech had helped us before.we were pleased to have a speedy recovery of our air conditioner!

It was 103 degrees, and our air conditioner quit. I placed a claim immediately. Later that day I received an e-mail saying that you had received the claim. No one called. Not you. Not the repair man. I called again Saturday to find out what was going on. I received an e-mail saying that you understood how difficult it was for us, and you were looking for a repairman. The next day I received an e-mail saying that an appointment had been made for the following Friday! Later that day I received an e-mail saying that I could choose to hire someone myself and I would be reimbursed. However, this option was not available if an appointment had already been made!!!? I have had Choice Home Warranty for many years. I've only had to use it 3 times. They always respond in a timely manner. This time took a little longer when my AC went out. However, I don't blame them because we were having 108+ temperatures and I know I wasn't the only one with failed units. I had to replace my 20 year old system, but the service was done professionally and fast. I will continue to use Choice Home Warranty for all of my appliances.
