Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

Claims Processing - 4.5 / 5

Even though appliance and system repairs are often unexpected, ServicePlus' flat rate $75 service fee makes budgeting for home repairs a little bit easier. Some home warranty companies work use a scale to price service calls. We appreciate the predictability the company's service fee structure provides.

ServicePlus makes filing claims easy. You can call the company 24/7 or file your claim online using the company's claims portal.

I Purchased this warranty and had to put in a claim. I paid the contractor $60 to come out and see what went wrong with my microwave. I started calling the warranty claims department and either was put on hold and never picked up or they picked it up and hung up on me many many times. I left a message With the supervisor on his voicemail approximately 8 to 10 times. When he finally contacted me he told me I was declined. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and will file a complaint. They were certainly happy to take my money but did not want to work with me at all under warranty. If I could give them a zero I would.

Stay away from this company. Horrible service and reject all the claims. They never pay any money for any of the service. waste of time and money

In my opinion, this company is a scam. We have filed 2 claims for items that were listed as "covered" and they did not cover the first one because, to make a long story short, it was "most likely a pre-existing condition" when we bought the house. The person my wife talked to was incredibly rude. She kept interrupting my wife, making her very irate. When my wife asked her to not interrupt her again, the lady interrupted her by saying "I'm not interrupting you ma'am". Recently our air conditioner went out (the fan stopped working). The only reason they are receiving 1 star from me is because, after our first claim, they waived the $45 service call fee so they sent a technician out for... Read More

The company is a sham. I tried to contact the company to update contact information and found the 800 number was disconnected with no reason or forwarding number provided. A call to their direct line went straight to voice mail with no indication that it was the correct box or the success of leaving the message. An email to this person boomeranged. The processing time is excessive for what should be an emergency call (no AC during a heat wave, or heat in the winter). You will end up waiting 24-48 hours just to get a status update. Then there will be more waiting while waiting to get on the lowest bidder’s schedule to have them come to throw a bandaid on an amputation. Stay away!!

I was going to write another negative review but after reading all the others decided to not waste my time. Suffice it to say they are the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I give them a 0 rating. Have already signed up with another company and will drop these people after my microwave is replaced.

This company was a nightmare to work with and will cheat you blind. We had a 2 year Platinum Home Warranty. A year into it, our microwave died. Contacted them and they said they would find a tech to come out. 3 weeks later, after repeated calls and my own attempts to find someone, no one would come out because they refused to work with this company. We ended up buying a new microwave out of our own pocket. 1 month later, our AC stopped working in 95-degree heat in Florida. I called and was told it would take 24-48 hrs to assign a company and then would have to contact them to set an appointment. They said I could call someone myself, call for authorization. If authorized, I could pay the... Read More

Everything this company promises is false. I was told my above ground jacuzzi would be covered. After purchasing the policy, I had to call the salesman, Tracey Howard (con man) several times for a copy of my policy. After reviewing the policy, it clearly stated my above ground jacuzzi wasn't covered. I called him and he assured me it was. He even transferred me to a woman who also told me I was covered and I had a "No Cap" policy. All that was false, something happened to my jacuzzi and NO coverage.... Funny thing is I was told they would pull the phone records to see if what I was saying was true and if so, I would be covered. Of course no call records could be found. I then spoke to... There advertisement say 24/7, NOT true! I've been with them for over 7 years and would rate them 4 out of 10 being the highest. The stress and repeated calls. If you try and put your claim in on line no success with that, every prompt say they can't find your contract. So frustrated!

STAY AWAY FROM THEM! They gladly take your monthly payment but refuse to pay claims. They do this by stonewalling you. I had a 2yr old washing machine, they determine bad transmission and REFUSE to replace it (even though contract calls for that.) They offer low ball check as partial for new unit. After much wrangling I agree on an amount. Then they stall, refusing to send the $. Calling them gets you their "gate keepers" who are taught to tell people what they think they want to hear just to get them off the phone. My claim was started in late Feb. 2019. it is now early May, still no $ from them for this. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD. They have denied every claim I have submitted. Read the fine print they will not pay for anything. Also I submitted the paperwork to have a claim approved on 4/26 via email, was told on 4/29 it would take 24-48 hours, and I am still waiting on the claim to be resolved. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE...
