Our Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

ServicePlus is unusual for having two pre-packaged plans that each cover a mix of systems and appliances. Optional coverage outside the standard plans is available for a wide range of home features.

The company's Platinum plan stands out for covering two heating and air condition systems, which can be helpful for homeowners of duplexes or homes where there are more than one type of heating system, e.g. baseboards in the kitchen and forced hot air elsewhere.

At a flat rate service fee of $75 per service call, the company falls in line with other warranty companies when it comes to deductibles. Customers can file claims 24/7 by telephone or online through the company's portal.

ServicePlus publishes a sample contract online and a thorough explanation of what is covered under its two plans. We recommend that potential customers thoroughly read their contract to understand coverage limits, policies on pre-existing problems with covered items, and other important issues.

ServicePlus offers two types of plans: Gold and Platinum.

Both of these have a series of optional add-ons, such as pools, spas, central vacuum, limited roof leaks, and septic systems, to name a few. Their pre-packaged plans can therefore be expanded to suit every homeowner's needs.

No home inspection is required to purchase a policy. Appliance and system coverage is guaranteed regardless of age, make, or model. However, maintenance records are required for service and the company has a pre-existing condition policy which is unusual in the industry and may limit coverage.

Even though appliance and system repairs are often unexpected, ServicePlus' flat rate $75 service fee makes budgeting for home repairs a little bit easier. Some home warranty companies work use a scale to price service calls. We appreciate the predictability the company's service fee structure provides.

Total Home Protection is an amazing company to do business with. I’ve had them for over 2 years now. My air conditioning unit stopped working on one of the hottest Summer days in Florida. I called Total Home Protection’s customer service line to let them know about the issue I was having and they sent someone out the same day. In just a couple of hours my air conditioning was repaired. The customer service is amazing and all that came out of my pocket was my deductible. This was especially impressive during such a hot time, where I'm sure a lot of people were having similar issues. I felt like a priority. I definitely recommend Total Home Protection to any and everyone.

I never realized how much money and time that I was spending out of pocket on repairs and replacing appliances until I looked in to a home warranty. I was skeptical at first but they had awesome customer service that explained everything to me in terms that I understood. I've saved quite a bit since I got my policy with Total Home Protection and I'm completely satisfied with their services.

We were planning a dinner party and our oven decided to quit. Our refrigerator wasn't far behind. These are appliances I least worry about, and I remember the rep speaking on it when I signed up for coverage. I'm so glad she was thorough. We got new appliances and our dinner party went off without a hitch. I'm glad to have Total Home Protection.

A wonderful company. I have been having problems with my washer and dryer. My washer broke down earlier this year and Total Home Protection took care of it. They dispatched a repairman who quoted me so much less than the local guys I was considering. THP really knows how to field their contractors. Now the same thing happened with my dryer. I called them, explained the situation, they took care of the matter. I'm glad I had the foresight to purchase the extended home warranty, and I'm certainly glad I purchased it through this company. They are very helpful, professional. Their rates are very affordable, and their services are great. I'm a very satisfied and happy customer with them

People, don't buy home warranty from Total Home Protection. They will not cover your repair or replace units like they advertise. It is a bad business practice. I bought that warranty this year, and it has been nightmare in just getting to file a claim and get someone to your house. I will share two incidents with them. First our toilet broke, their dispatch sent out a plumber who gave us an estimate of $900, but Total Home protection only wanted to pay $250, after paying the co-pay it was just $160. This was not enough to cover cost of labor let alone parts were more that they offered. Second event, our LG top of the line 8 year old washer started smoking. When I called Total Home... Read More

My husband and I recently purchased our new home and moved in last week. I purchased the extended warranty policy after we closed on the house. That night the garage door stopped working. It wouldn't open. Luckily our van was parked outside. I called Total Home Protection for repair, and they arranged for a technician to come out the next day! Turns out the sensor had went out. Easy fix thankfully. All it cost was our deductible. A day after the technician came out, we had a call to make sure everything was still working. I'm very happy with this company.

Let my testimony be fair warning, Total Home Protection will rip you off. You may think that you're saving money but in reality, you won’t be. They will happily honor small claims. But anything bigger than a routine repair, they will refuse to pay. I had a clogged and leaking kitchen sink drain pipe. They refused the claim saying the leak was caused by the pipe rusting. I told them the pipe is PVC plastic and plastic doesn't rust. After a week, they responded that the claim was refused due to the pipe being corroded. I told them again the pipe is PVC and that PVC doesn't corrode. After another week they responded back and refused the claim saying that the leak was caused by outside... Read More

My air conditioner stopped working recently and I called Total Home Protection with my warranty. The people in customer service walked me through the process to getting it fixed. They got someone to me to take a look and get it fixed within a few days. Customer service even called a week later to make sure everything was working properly. Thank you THP!
