Cancellation Policy

1. You may void this Agreement within 30 days of the coverage effective date for a full refund of the contract fees paid if no claim has been made. The right to void this Agreement as provided in this paragraph is not transferable. A ten percent penalty per month will be added to any refund required under this paragraph, including any accrued penalties, that is not paid or credited within 30 days after termination of this Agreement pursuant to this paragraph. 2. You may cancel this Agreement within 30 days of the coverage effective date if a claim has been made, or at any time thereafter, at which time you may be entitled to a refund of unearned contract fees paid based on the short rate schedule less a processing fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) and less the cost of any services performed pursuant to the Agreement, where permitted by law. If the refund calculation results in you owing us payment for services provided, we may bill you for the lesser of the net amount due to us or the unpaid annual term contract fee. We will bill or charge you any balance owed to us through the same mechanism as any previous installment billings, or we will direct bill you if such a mechanism is not available. 3. We may terminate this Agreement immediately, after any applicable notice provisions, for non-payment, fraud or material misrepresentation. If we terminate for fraud or material misrepresentation, this Agreement is void and we shall refund all paid contract fees if no claims have been made. If a claim has been made, we will follow normal cancellation procedures as outlined in this section.

I’ve had a heating problem since December 2017. That year the temperature was fridge. Total referred a company that came our 6 times to fix only for the heat to run for a hour and then die. Finally another company came out and said I needed a new heater. I paid $750 to have it installed. However, this company installed a pipe that did not fit in January 2018. They came back out in December 2018 after numerous phone calls to Total the company admitted the incorrect pipe was installed. I was informed by the installer that tape would correct the problem, I insisted the correct size pipe be installed and was told it would take 2 weeks. It’s now February 2019. They should have zero stars. On December 17, I called to place a claim that my covered appliance – Whirlpool Refrigerator is not cooling or freezing, it took them till December 20 to come out to inspect. Since then, they have been out 6 times, replaced over $800 in parts plus a $125 deduct and it still does not work. Each time they replace parts, they say wait a few hours and it should be cooling – that has never happened. Save your money don't purchase this warranty. I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years, and I have been paying for the warranty for 2 of my properties. I have an active leak in my living room, and dealing with the Total Protect became a full-time job for me. The companies that have been assigned to my claim are canceling on me or simply not showing up at the day of the appointment. If you manage to get someone don't expect them to fix your problem. I have had a plumber coming out to tell me that the leak in my living room is related to an issue with my cloth washer. I reviewed Home Protect (owned by Cross Country Home Services) website today, amazing how a company like this views themselves. I too can add my name to the very long list of extremely disappointed customers. My story is no different than all the rest that I've read on this website. Candidly, I'm in a little quandary how our legislature and consumer protection agencies can continue to allow this type of illicit business practices to continue

This home warranty is the worth at first I was paying $75.00 for a home impection and now is $125.00 and they dont cover anything thats is big like the aircondition they dont replace it if is brooken they will change you to fix it not to replace it so that what Im giving this warranty a one start

They are a FRAUD. They misrepresent their plans. They have the worst vendors. They send out technicians to your home which turn out to be no shows. Don’t investigate when company’s are dispatched to your home but send out there their friends without contacting the homeowner and total protect. Rip you off by taking your deductible for false diagnosis and total protect will tell you they are sending you a refund and will investigate the mistery company however, they never sent my refund nor do they follow up on technician whom entered my home that’s not a part of their contract. Their claims are subject to their determination of cost not the actual cost. Example; the going rate for R22 in my area is $100.00/# however they would only pay $35.00/# leaving me with the difference to pay. They have a poor reputation among vendors. Most refuse to accept a contract for service from them. I had to get permission to find a vendor on my own, getting permission took over 30 days, and I had to pay up front for the service and then submit for re-reimbursement. That was 7 months ago and I still have not been compensated and it has been one excuse after another.

I have been paying for two years with no service calls made. Called for a washer repair and it's been two months, and no repair complete. They are scam artists who prey on the honest, hardworking man. DON'T USE THEM

They were unable to get my garbage disposal fixed in 5 months. They cannot often find service providers and many of the providers they use don’t show up and don’t return phone calls. They tried to send a plumber to my house who was not certified to work on my state, rude customer service. I did cancel my membership yesterday.
