My mom is 72 and has fallen several times. When she came to live with me I did some research and found Bay Alarm Medical to have the highest reviews. I immediately called and ordered the help buttons/ fall detection/ wrist button and thank goodness she has not needed to use the buttons but, I can peacefully go to work knowing she is coved with immediate aid if needed. The service has been good, but company policies are detestable. Within the one year warranty the unit failed--one day it worked the next it didn't. Without exception and almost according to script, each representative and supervisor insisted that it was my fault the unit failed and I had to pay $200 to get a replacement unit. Each representative tried to say that since the unit worked when first plugged in and tested, there was no manufacturer's defect and that something happened that was not covered by warranty. Furthermore, I could not cancel my service without paying the $200 fee and forfeiting the remaining 6 months of service I had just prepaid. It is false advertising to claim a... Read More

I will never use this company again. I will never recommend this company to anyone. The technical department has great service. However, the account representatives are rude and unprofessional. They actually charge a fee for processing checks. They are not able to process checks over the phone. When I asked for an upgrade to the fall detection they would not give a discount but wanted to charge me the full price again, even though I had already been paying for 6 months.

My 92 year old Mother-in-law lives alone and wears he Bay Medical Alert necklace all the time, even when she is away from the house. That way she doesn't forget to put it back on when she returns. Last summer she fell outside and hit her head on a rock. She pushed the button but told us that it didn't work. She made it into the house and said that she pushed it again when inside. She said almost as soon as she pushed the button, EMT's were entering her door. Truth is, the button did work outside and they were already on there way. We purchased a box for the outside of the house that only the fire department and EMT's have a key for so that they can enter the house without damaging... Read More

I gave you 3 stars...your service is EXCELLENT! I gave you 3 stars because after I ordered this service for my mother, I ordered it for my in-laws. The package came but it had only 1 Vital Sign sleeve for the refrigerator. I called to get another sleeve and was told it would cost $18 or 30 (I forgot now-but a high price) to send one. So I asked if you had the info sheet on line so I could just download it and was told no. So I ended up just copying the one and filling out one for each of my in-laws. THEN- when I ordered this, I ordered a necklace for my mother-in-law and a wristwatch for my father-in-law. My father-in-law had a difficult time with the watch and wanted a necklace. AGAIN,... I picked bay alarm because the online research I did pointed to the company as having the most responsive customer service. This seemed most important because the devices available are of similar function and quality. My experience is that the customer service is disappointing.

My husband and I live alone and deal with health problems on a daily basis. Recently, my husband had a subdural hematoma which required surgical intervention. He had in-patient therapy and was out of the house for 2 months. During that time I fell and received a concussion. I could not get up and contact anyone. This incident was the reason I signed up for Bay State alarm. They have been a great help during the set-up process and I now feel that I am protected from any other emergency. Thankfully, I have not had to use it but feel good that it's there if I need it.

Great service! Works well, very responsive. Would be great to have a device that one could hear while wearing and away from the main unit, especially for the hearing impaired.
