The website is awful; very hard to navigate. Customer Service is a joke. I have been enrolled for appx. 1 1/2 months and still have not been able to connect with a knowledgable customer service person. I have requested and Preferred Provider list three times and still not received it.

Terrible company and customer service. They will NOT cover what they claim. If you use your policy for anything other than wellness or doctors visits, they will cancel your policy. We were supposed to have 80/20 coverage, but to date have had to pay 50% of a one night hospital stay costing in excess of $20,000. I'd avoid this company. Not trustworthy and caring whatsoever!

United Healthcare is not the great insurance company it once was. We have an HSA and are located in the midwest. UHC does not negotiate down the doctor's visit fees by much anymore and always customer service uses the excuse, "It applies to the deductible or you have not met the deductible yet." The prices are way higher than what we have paid with our other insurance provider in the past, that we switched back to. Even the prescription prices are double and triple what they should ordinarily be, AND different (as in higher) every time we reorder(for the lowest tier/generic medicines)! Normally, the doctor visits and procedures are negotiated down 30-50% by insurance, and this last bill... Read More

It seems that their website is down about 50% of the time whenever I try to access it.

UHC is raising their prices 14% for the 2019 year. Garbage! $3686 in premiums per year with a $5400 max out of pocket before they cover you. Not worth it! Im cancelling! No ACA penalty anymore starting 1-1-19

UnitedHealthcare is the worse insurance ever. Few quality doctors take their insurance, you get a different answer each time from their customer service reps, their website on list of doctors who take their insurance hasn't been updated in a decade, and they clawback payments from providers without explanation leaving the patient on the hook. These people are total criminals--stay away!

"What a joke" is absolutely correct. This company is not legit!!!!!! I signed up for them and immediately realized my mistake and tried to cancel within a day. The woman on the phone was INCREDIBLY rude and refused to let me talk t o her supervisor. I called back numerous times and had similar experiences. I'm still (60 days later) battling with them to cancel the coverage, reverse ongoing charges to my credit card and clean up with mess. Please do yourself a favor and STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST!

United healthcare practices discriminatory service against immigrants. My husband, who has been in permanent resident of the United States for five years and his resident card is good for another five (not to mention receiving his citizenship this year) was canceled from United healthcare with no notice, one month into a new policy. They claimed this was due to a change in his immigration status, however there was none. When asked repeatedly to provide proof of this, both the representative and subsequent supervisor have refused. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and a discriminatory action against United Healthcare. As an American Citizen, I am baffled and... Read More

What a joke. Had United Heathcare and a supplement plan and because I was healthy and never needed care I went for preventative care and was denied coverage after paying over $15,000 in premiums. So make sure that you go to the emergency room and your doctor puts it is pre existing or the company will try to figure out how to NOT pay. What a joke.

I've found the United Healthcare doctors to be the worst I've tried. They are for the most part unskilled mechanics who have passed an exam. I would not take out united healthcare again.
