2019 .. biilling came in from 2018 - diverticulitis. (on silver plan - do not get cost is horrible when billing comes in) paid for CT iodine scan & treatment - my cost about 800 dollars. Jan 2019 now on Gold plan diverticulitis came back.. got treatment w/o ct scan & iodine treatment costs more than 2018. Still not cured. Feb came back & had to go to treatment again. Now starting to come back in March. Glad you all got rich off this & no one got cured..Now in March got pinched nerve in shoulder - lots of pain - part of it come from base of neck. UHC only allowed a few visits - not enough to help me out. Still having pain..numbness in 3 fingers & through right arm.Sorry, probably got into... Read More

Start telling your customers what their covered for and how much you will pay. Are you freaking insane? You won't even tell a customers physician what you cover and how much you will pay until the treatment or procedure has already been scheduled. I repeat, ARE YOU INSANE? Apparently, so I'll sell you a bridge, but you must first agree to buy it before I tell you how much it's going to cost. You are stinking money-grubbing scum and probably lack the intellect to grasp the depth of my disdain. May all your children get pancreatic cancer. YOU GET ZERO STARS. I'll be filing a complaint with my Insurance Commissioner.

I was on emergency on 01/01/2019 and 01/07/2019, I have to pay more than $8,000.00 bills for these emergency, due to more than $5,000.00 is out of net work ambulance and emergency doctor service. My question is We bought insurance due to we can't offer hospital cost, that's mean's if we got sick, we need insurance to help us to pay the bills, seems united health care just take advantage of patient, who's on emergency have no ability to negotiation with ambulance and emergency doctor if they are in net work or out of net work, and most of them are out of net work as I have been told by United health care insurance.but Insurance should responsible to fix this problem, Patient... This is the worse Insurance company i have ever seen. They think they are smarter than the Doctors and actually refuse to pay for prescriptions. They actuall called and denied a proceedure my Nerouoligist sent for a test. In bed with CVS who is the most expensive pharmacy in our area.

After receiving LTD for about a year, I just received a letter that they wanted almost all of the money they paid me returned. $27650.00! When I was injured at work, I received STD for about 6 months and when that ran out and I could no longer work at any light-duty posts at work, I was forced to choose between retiring early or being terminated and losing my health insurance benefits. I chose to retire early. I could still survive but it would be tight. I got a call from UHC Specialty Benefits who handled the STD claim. She was asking me about LTD and I told her that I just put in my retirement papers so, thinking that was going to be the end of our conversation, she went on to tell me... Read More

By far the worst health insurance available. To start this, I have an HMO plan. So i expect to jump through a few hoops to get coverage on what i need. This being said, this has been the most backwards healthcare I've experienced. Expect to call their customer service department every other day to make sure your procedure approval isn't dropped or on hold. I was told they have received my lab results and the approval process is pending and it will take 10 days to process only to call back the next week and learn that those lab results are not in their system and that they have not received them at all. The nurses from my healthcare provider have said they've never had any other issues with... Read More

I have had a United Healthcare "Advantage" plan - vs Medicare and a supplement this year. It is the worst experience from a healthcare perspective and customer service since I retired. I have spent most mornings for the past 2 months on the phone reiterating former issues, and fighting for my healthcare in general. The customer service is untrained and "new to the industry" - and the latter is indeed a quote from one rep. I was denied a gold standard knee injection formula to allow for a lower grade and cheaper for the insurance company to deliver. Only if the lesser known injectiable fails, will they allow the standard treatment,. Even the doctors and their staff stay away from United... Read More

I was with you for 10 years of more but at this point I would never say do a nice thing for your company. I had hand pt last year with someone your out of network. Now a year later I am getting bills in the mail because you don't pay your bills. you people pormise me you pay 60% but not even close. $226.00 out of a bill $3,900.00 that isn't even close to 10% liars and I hate liars. So now after 2 years of no work because needing 2 ankle replacements and a knee replacement and hiv pos now I have to worry about paying United Health Care bill of $1,900.00. Thanks for the extra stress and if I die because of this stress and now having to find a way to pay this bill because I still can't... Read More

If I could give no stars I would. This is the worst health insurance company I have ever had. I have had a claim almost 2 years old that they have continued to deny even though my coverage clearly shows that it is covered and my doctors office submitted all the paperwork and documents and records they asked for multiple times. They are useless and do not cover what they say they do. The only reason I still have them is because I'm limited by what my employment offers, I cannot afford to buy health insurance without going through my employer. Terrible company. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I joined UHC for a few reasons, hearing aid assistance being one. UHC offers two resources: EPIC and HealthInnovations. I opted for EPIC because it appears that HealthInnovations does not sell name brand hearing aids and also I wanted my hearing test performed in an office by an audiologist. I contacted EPIC to set up an appointment and it was only upon my questioning the background qualifications of the person conducting the hearing test that I was told by the EPIC receptionist this person only held an EPIC certificate. I contacted UHC regarding this situation and was told there was nothing UHC could do and that is why there are two ways of obtaining hearing aid assistance being... Read More
