We had listed our home in the Memphis, TN market and had an HVAC unit that quit cooling. One call to American Home Shield and the process was started to get an HVAC company out to check the unit. The technician that came out quickly realized the unit was OVER charged with refrigerant and was able to make the necessary changes in the system for it to work the way it was supposed to work. Nice Job... Quick Service.... Problem solved!

I have been with this company for over eight years now. I pay over $800 annual costs for the premium plan. In the beginning I could not say enough great things about them. But each year they keep getting worse. Firstly, AHS keeps taking items that were covered away. Last time it was the refrigerator unless I pay more. So, I payed more. Then it was the ice maker. And that cannot ever be covered again. They are continuously restricting the items covered. Can't wait to see whats next. Also, when I do need service on something important like a flooding bathroom or hot water the companies they do employ tell me it will be 5 days till they can see me (or I can pay more directly to them). American Home Shield is the ideal home warranty. I utilized their service on two different occasion, each time my problem was taken care of promptly and efficiently. I have recommended 3 family house hold who is currently a member of AHS. I highly reccomend American Home Shield to everyone who owns their home or Apartment.

It gives us peace of mind knowing that so many systems in our home are covered! We have an older home, and have had to call for the A.C., plumbing and even the refrigerator this year alone!

This was amusing a week or so ago but I am Literally begging anyone one from AHS to PLEASE contact me. It has been a month since I made my first request to have my A/C fixed and it has become unbearable. I am reporting you to the Mississippi BBB and the MS State attorney general. I have been nice to an extent at first but this has become rediculous.

This warranty is a waste of money, and time! My air conditioner went out this summer, and I had to fix it myself.Waited on American home shield for a week just to hear them say it's not covered. I wish I had my money back that I've paid on the policy for the last two years! I will be canceling my policy this year. Do not waste your money with this company!

So far, I really have nothing good to say about the company. I spent 2 hours, mostly on hold, trying to get clarification of coverage due to an ambiguous statement in the contract. I spoke with several people who were more than willing to sell me coverage but had no idea what was in the contract. I made 2 appointments for 2 different items but cancelled the 1 when they said it was not covered. I was charged for the appt anyway. There is no quick and easy way to contact them - no email, no chat - only waiting on hold for hours. They have a terrible reputation in this regard. Even the realtors and companies that provide service will tell you the same thing.

American Home Shield is probably the worst company in the United States and their home warranty is a big scam. DO NOT pay money for it! My central A/C broke and their incompetent contractor took over 10 months, 6 visits and my personally paying over $2,000 in "uncovered fees" for them to band aid it back together. The system should have been replaced, but even though they claim they'll replace broken systems they won't really do it. I also asked repeatedly in over 25 phone calls to AHS for them to assign a different HVAC contractor, but they said the one I had was the only one available.
