Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I enjoy choice the contractors are great, the claim service is prompt. There coverage covers a lot of things. Great value for the price.

I just got a policy with this company. The rep that I spoke with it said how wonderful the company and policy was. When I received the paperwork for the policy it listed more things they wouldn't cover than things they would. They wouldn't even cover a basic leak detection on the A/C. When I called customer service they were unconcerned with my issues. I advised the CSR that I would be cancelling the warranty and she was all to eager to transfer me to the department that handles it. I could even hear CSR in the background speaking rudely and in harsh tones.

I initially filed a claim with Home Choice (HC) Warranty on 3/3/16 as my water heater was not working. Living in Chicago, one can imagine the difficulty of taking cold showers. On 3/4/16, I was scheduled to have a plumber to service the water heater. I was informed by the plumber that they recommended that the water heater be replaced as the chance there is a 60/40 chance that replacing the parts would rectify the issue. On 3/8/16, it was determined by Home Choice that they would like to get a 2nd opinion regarding this matter. On 3/11/16, the second plumber came to service the water heater. We have Choice and will not renew. There are so many exclusions that they will find a way not to make a repair. They talked us into 3 years and said we could get a refund at any time if not satisfied. After 1 year we called them for an air conditioner repair and they refused to cover the repair so we requested a refund. Their reply was that we would only have 1 year refunded. Very poor customer service and very misleading. A total waste of money!

Once my new claim was placed online Choice Warranty was expedient with response. Also, the representative I spoke with on the phone was very professional & helpful. I immediately had contact information for repair company. Setting up appointment was a very easy process.

My experience with Choice Home Warranty has always been amazing. They are extremely effecting about getting a claim and notifying a repair person for me to contact. They work with top notch repair companies near me. Each claim was handled without complications and have been a pleasant and refreshing experience. They never make you feel like an burden to them and seen genuinely concerned with getting your issue addressed. Thank you Choice.

Choice home warranty is extremely easy to deal with. They really care about your needs and take the time to listen. I've recommended all my friends and family to John Silva, he is well versed and the go-to person there. I think he may be a supervisor there... We have had two satisfied claims with Choice Home Warranty. They were diligent in making sure a contractor contacted us within 24 hours to make an appointment and that we were taken care of. I am not sure why there are negative reviews. We selected the plan we wanted and knew how much we would have to pay out of pocket based on the plan we chose. We also knew that the warranty would kick in after 30 days of purchase. All this is on the website stated clearly. We are completely satisfied with the service they have provided.

This company denied coverage for the very first claim that I made. They solicited me for a year, I was already satisfied with Total protect for about 3 years not ever having a complaint but fell into the trap of trying someone else because they were soliciting and my renewal was coming up with TOTAL PROTECT which was AWESOME. NOT only did they deny my claim, I had to pay the $45 service charge and an additional $50 early termination fee. What a rip off, this company should be put out of business. It is disgusting that this type of crap is allowed to go. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!
