Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. Optional coverage for such items as pools and spas, well pumps, and septic systems is available for an additional fee. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

We are having a hard time with this company. We have a claim in now. hopefully it will cover. We have a spa Go out does not cover it because it is in our floor not in the ground. We paid 2 years for this coverage and found out waste of money. Got reimbursed $40 and they will not reimburse for the full two years. Had a Air condition go out does not cover. We have a claim in now with our water pump. I had to find our own company because we had to wait all weekend and still they did not have someone. A little more than a year ago I switched to choice home warranty to cover warranty for my home. As per their offer, I paid for 5 years warranty in advance. Until last week I used them only once for a very small issue. Last Thursday reported lack of cooling (claim #57134237) and they sent someone to check. There was no Freon in the AC unit, so they asked me to do Leak check at my cost, as they did not cover this. I got it done from their technician and paid for it. The findings were that evaporation coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. Now they are telling me they won't cover this. this company is bad news. avoid them like the plague. I have called several times for problems. I paid $45 service call each time. NO work was ever done. No follow up apt to do work was ever made. NO follow up from Choice warranty regarding work done to my satisfaction no follow up. nothing EVER completed. made many calls to no avail. I am out money and they have NEVER fixed a thing or shown up again. no communication form Choice Warranty or their vendors. waste of money. refused to refund me for service calls paid. they said 'they are visits'. WORST HOME WARRANTY EVER!!! I have been extremely disappointed in the service and loyalty of this company. They are definitely NOT interested in customer service and assisting with home problems. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We have had 2 TERRIBLE experiences with this company. Canceled and will NEVER USE AGAIN!

I loved them at first, nice I thought, then I call for a toilet leaking, they give me a no. said someone will call in 24 hrs. no call then days later they call say they have no one in Bryan, College station tx to fix it so if i will get someone they will fix it. So I get a plumber out of phone book he comes out ready to fix it and they say I have to pay as I called my own person. This is sad I am a widow needs help and they took my money and will not help me at all. They called me told me to get someone then say they will not pay. Do your self a

Do not get involved with these people. They will dig deep to find any reason to deny your claim. When my claim was denied I ask for a written detailed expiation why the claim was denied. I have not received a response. I found the claims personnel, including the claims manager, to very rude and nasty. They read from a prepared script and could care less about you or your problem. Don't waste your money !

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL DIG DEEP TO FIND ANY REASON TO DENY YOUR CLAIM. MY CLAIM WAS DENIED AND I ASKED FOR WRITTEN DETAILED REASON FOR THE DENIAL AND HAVE NEVER RECEIVED AN ANSWER. I FOUND THEIR CLAIMS PEOPLE INCLUDING THE CLAIMS MANAGER RUDE AND NASTY. THAY READ FROM A SCRIPT AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU.

I was pleased with the response time and the company who came to repair my washing machine. Unfortunately, it could not be repaired and Choice Home Warranty offered a fair amount to replace it. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
