If I could give this company a ZERO I would. After dealing with them for over 6 months, 7 service calls a damaged wall, and wrong parts ordered on a freezer repair, I finally gave up. No one at this company follows up, and as some of the previous reviews have stated, they do hang up on you when you ask for a Supervisor. The contractors that they hire are worthless. When my auto renewal was about to go through, I could not get through to the “cancellation” department. Every time I called it immediately went straight to a busy tone. Do NOT use this company. Run from your contract now before they scam you into a renewal that you don’t want.
I WISH I had checked further before I signed on with this company. The Customer Rep. I spoke with lied, refused to give me a Supervisor or even another Agent, and said she was in Memphis, TN. However, her accent was Tagalong (very heavy accent), and, as usual when you deal with Overseas Representatives, they will DISCONNECT YOU IF YOU ASK FOR A SUPERVISOR. After 30 minutes of holding "she" disconnected me. I say "she", because she said her name is "Daryl". It's possible - but I've NEVER heard a woman named Daryl - and I've been on this earth for 67 years. American Home Shield along with Premier Appliance Services was absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I had an order for a washer repair. I paid the $100 service fee and the repairman came out. He(James) said the ring on the motor was broken and not to use the washer. He said he would order the parts. When I called to check on the part order, they said it would be 3-5 days. I called in 5 days. They THEN told me the repair was DENIED!! Now why they wouldn't tell me when I called on the part order, I have no idea! They said Premier said it was denied. I called Premier, they said AHS said it was denied! I had a full scale run-around. Don't use either of these companies
I would not recommend not even considering insurance with these guys! I've gotten ripped off twice from the swimming pool insurance. They came and fixed nothing both times. Can't get them back to fix what they came to fix in the first place. I had it fixed privately, and quickly so it didn't over heat and ruin my filter pump and fixed for well under American Home Shield's $1000 service fee. I previously, for five years, had "Old Republic" and they were really good, fair, and quick to make the repairs.
Recently had water heater replaced. I had call AHS several times for them to expedite the order due to possibly of leak could occur in attic where water is located and cause considerable damages. The first agent seemed not to know what a water heater was and entered the wrong information. A second agent called back and corrected information and had contractor dispatched. Contractor came, called in information to AHS and told me it would probably be 4-5 days before water heater could be installed because AHS had to order water heater, ship to pickup location. I was with AHS for a few years. Every time I had a plumbing problem it would take at least a week to get someone out. I switched to ARW!
American Home Shield is a total scam. Do not trust - would have been better off just giving the $600 premium to a new home owner rather than "an insurance policy" that is worthless.
In 2002, this was one of the best warranty company that I could have ever invested in. I recommended them to my elderly parents, and they have been a sore in their sides every since. In February they delivered a dryer in the center of their living room floor and over a month later it has not been installed. They have been charged double fees for the same service and it takes months for them to receive refunds. The quality of repair people has also decreased. I’m not sure why the quality of the company has changed, but buyer beware. My realtor introduced us to this company many years ago and now we are taking our entire family and going elsewhere. The company is a ripoff . Replaced my Garbage disposal and gave me one 1/4 of the size of mine and said if I want the same thing I have to pay more in addition to the $100. I paid. I'm fighting to get my money back and will cancel them after that. They use these contractors who are so Rude and can barely speak English . AHS should be ashamed of themselves to rip people off like this.

WILL NOT RECCOMEND! NO COMMUNICATION. THEY HIDE BEHIND LANGUAGE, SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PAY.
BUT THEY FAITHFULLY TAKE YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS.
