2-10 HBW’s home warranties, unlike many competitors, exclusively offers hybrid plans. Although the number of covered items advertised are on the low side, their lack of an annual cap makes up for it. Three home warranty plans are available: Appliances Only, HVAC + Water Heater, and Everything Together. The Everything Together plan includes all items from Appliances Only and HVAC + Water Heater, but also includes plumbing and electrical panels and wiring.

Specialty Items and Additional Coverage

2-10 HBW also features many specialty items as add ons. These include roof leaks, pre-season HVAC tune-up, additional HVAC system, additional refrigerator, built-in wine cooler, freestanding freezer, wet bar refrigerator, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, attic fans, burglar and fire alarms, garage door opener, water softener, septic system, well pump, pool/spa freshwater, and pool/spa saltwater.

2-10 HBW offers an ‘Even If’ Service Fee Guarantee. ‘Even If’ an item is not eligible for coverage, and 2-10 HBW dispatches a service contractor, the homeowner may request reimbursement of the service fee. ‘Even If’ also means if the same part that was serviced fails again within the term of the home warranty, the homeowner will not pay another service fee.

Additionally, 2-10 HBW offers Bonus Appliance Coverage:

Appliance Color Match – when replacing an appliance, the function, capacity and efficiency of the previous appliance will be matched, as well as the color.
Appliance Replacement Offer – when placing a service request for a covered appliance, you may proceed with the service request OR initiate the Appliance Replacement Offer. 2-10 HBW will give the homeowner a check for $100 to apply toward a brand new appliance instead of completing the appliance repair.
Appliance Discount Program – homeowners can save up to 65% on new GE®, Whirlpool®, KitchenAid®, Jenn-Air®, Maytag®, Gladiator® brands and more.

We were given a 2-10 home warranty when we purchased our new home. We made a claim on our furnace system and 2-10 denied our claim due to the problem being a "pre-existing condition." I spoke with a representative who informed me that the contractor had stated that this was "100% a pre-existing condition and had to have been broke for quite sometime." After this phone call the contractor actually called me to see what 2-10 had said. When I told him what they said, he stated that he told them that in his professional opinion this was not a pre-existing condition and he never told them that it was. I called 2-10 back and confronted them about lying to me. This representative then admitted to... Read More

Avoid 2-10 at all costs. This service will waste your time and yield nothing in return but distress. I opened 3 service requests in the span of a year and for each of them 2-10 was unhelpful at best, even with the "Premium" coverage. First request was for a non-functioning dryer outlet. Dispatched company inspected and claimed it was not a failure but an installation issue so it would not be covered and no work was done. They charged the $75 deductible anyway. Second request was for a shower leaking into the basement. Dispatched plumber diagnosed and claimed the issue was weak shower grout which was not covered by warranty. They did nothing else, charged the $75 deductible and left.... Read More

Your warranty service is terrible and your customer service dept is non existent. After several months of trying to cancel and get a refund i still have not received either confirmation of cancellation nor refund from your company. Good riddens!!!!! I hope to share my opinion with many , good luck with your greed , you certainly have lost this customer!

Agents are combative and Home Warranty company appears to not to want to reimburse though we followed the process. Terrible. No department knows what the heck is going on, from Customer Service, to Claims, to Accounting. Would not recommend.

The contractor's receptionist hung up on me after reminding me that I had requested another contractor, which I did following a previous negative service experience. 2-10 Warranty told me that I had no other option but to go with the contractor with whom I had the negative experience because the one I preferred was out of network. However, last month they were in network and fixed the A/C with no problem. I tried to contact 2-10 Warranty Customer Service to explain my experience to no avail. At this point, I will probably seek out another warranty company at renewal time.

My air conditioner stopped working after moving into my newly purchased home in August. It was around 105 degrees when the AC unit blew. 2-10 sent their contractor who determined that it was a pre existing issue and quoted us a price for repair twice what is common in our area. We replaced the unit at our own expense. 2-10 HBW denied our claim for repairs under the home warranty stating the problem was a pre-existing issue. However, the initial home inspection report, and an additional air conditioner inspection both stated the unit was in working order. I contacted a gentleman in 2-10 HBWs call center who was very polite. He stated we could request a re-evaluation of our initial claim,... Read More

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty review STAY AWAY FROM THIS WARRANTY. If you have a minor leak or any MINOR problem, they will fix that. Anything MAJOR? Absolutely not. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR OWN AGREEMENT. Been without air conditioning for 3 months, and have endured too many of their shady contractors. Do your homework on all warranty companies and know your rights, as I am not done with this company. I rated them only because it was required. 1/2 of a star is too much of a compliment for them. Too many negative reviews speak VOLUMES.

June 9, 2019 Whom It May Concern: We have paid for your home warranty for 13 years and just recently needed to use it for the first time. First, our hot water heater broke and needed to be replaced. To our surprise we still had to pay an additional $1000. Then a few months later, our air conditioner quit working and had to be repaired. Once again, we had to come up with an additional $900. Another issue is the amount of time it takes from submission to completion. For instance, we were without AC for 14 days. Even though there is a progress bar on the website, we found that we had to call for updates. We feel we should’ve been kept better informed. To say the least, we are not... Read More
