2-10 HBW’s home warranties, unlike many competitors, exclusively offers hybrid plans. Although the number of covered items advertised are on the low side, their lack of an annual cap makes up for it. Three home warranty plans are available: Appliances Only, HVAC + Water Heater, and Everything Together. The Everything Together plan includes all items from Appliances Only and HVAC + Water Heater, but also includes plumbing and electrical panels and wiring.

Specialty Items and Additional Coverage

2-10 HBW also features many specialty items as add ons. These include roof leaks, pre-season HVAC tune-up, additional HVAC system, additional refrigerator, built-in wine cooler, freestanding freezer, wet bar refrigerator, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, attic fans, burglar and fire alarms, garage door opener, water softener, septic system, well pump, pool/spa freshwater, and pool/spa saltwater.

2-10 HBW offers an ‘Even If’ Service Fee Guarantee. ‘Even If’ an item is not eligible for coverage, and 2-10 HBW dispatches a service contractor, the homeowner may request reimbursement of the service fee. ‘Even If’ also means if the same part that was serviced fails again within the term of the home warranty, the homeowner will not pay another service fee.

Additionally, 2-10 HBW offers Bonus Appliance Coverage:

Appliance Color Match – when replacing an appliance, the function, capacity and efficiency of the previous appliance will be matched, as well as the color.
Appliance Replacement Offer – when placing a service request for a covered appliance, you may proceed with the service request OR initiate the Appliance Replacement Offer. 2-10 HBW will give the homeowner a check for $100 to apply toward a brand new appliance instead of completing the appliance repair.
Appliance Discount Program – homeowners can save up to 65% on new GE®, Whirlpool®, KitchenAid®, Jenn-Air®, Maytag®, Gladiator® brands and more.

My fridge needed repair due to the coils freezing up and the fridge/freezer not staying cold enough. I had to use a hairdryer to melt the excess ice off the coils to keep it working.  I submitted a claim on 7/8/2019. 1-2 days later a technician came out, diagnosed the problem and said once the parts come in, he would be back to fix it. Then two weeks go by and I called the home warranty company 2-10 to figure out what the delay was about. They told me the contractor charged too much for the parts and they rather supply their own for less cost.  Fine, call ended, and I waited another week with no calls. I had to call once again to follow up with 2-10 to have them tell me they... Read More

I noticed my refrigerator was not cooling as expected, I went to the 2-10 website and submitted a claim. This was on a Saturday around Noon, On Sunday I called 2-10 and was informed the contractor they had selected had until Monday to call me. I instead called them at 8am Monday and was told someone could be out on Tuesday. Tuesday they did send a repair person who determined what the problem was. Mac however did not turn in his paperwork, and as of Wednesday afternoon that hasn't been done yet. So 2-10 can not authorize a repair, a small fan that circulates air from freezer to frig. Tomorrow is Thursday, the earliest they can order the part, no calls weekends. I did get a... Read More

I had trouble with my air conditioner. They worked on it and got it running and said it was a short in it. three weeks later, I discovered a large amount of water in my walk in closet which one side of it was my furnace and partly my air conditioner. I called 2-10 and they sent a plumber. I had already paid the $100.00 for the first service and had to pay for this plumber the same. It turned out a pipe that is connected to the air conditioner needed to be drained and cleaned out, then put in new water and Clorox. He would not help with the water. I bought a vacuum but it was to small for the job. I did not know what I was doing. Finally, I bought a heavy duty fan and used it for over 8... Read More

We've had problems with the air conditioner/heat pump since we bought the house last year, May 2018. Each time we got the run around about what was wrong with it. Both my husband and I have health issues - Air conditioner stopped working completely 5/30 had to wait a week for a service technician! They didn't contact the contractor to notify when parts would be in or if they were ordered. 6/17/19 We just spent an hour on the phone to find out we have to wait another week to find anything out. Our house was built in 2007, so getting a new coil shouldn't take weeks to get. After this is taken care of we will be cancelling the warranty on both houses. Buyers beware!

my A.C. unit was out for almost 2 months, during this time we went through 2 compressors and were waiting for the third when i could not take the ridiculousness any longer and i purchased my own A.C. unit. i live in virginia and during those 2 months no one cared to expedite or bother themselves at 210 to consider that an emergency in virginia's summer temperatures my house was a constant 84 degrees for the 2 months straight with humidity of well over 76% every day well now i have mold growing in my bathroom from this experience (there was no mold before we just bought this house 6 months ago) and guess what 210 WILL NOT cover mold because of this issue apparently its in the service... Shortly after renewing my policy, my free standing freezer needed service. I logged in to my account, selected ‘file a claim’. The drop down list showed many options, all active buttons, so I assumed everything was covered on my policy. I clicked on ‘free standing freezer’, and a pop up said I was not covered for that item. I immediately downloaded a copy of my policy. On the first page, it said I could add options before the end of the month. I called, instead of adding them online, so I could ask if I could add my freezer and make a claim the same day. I was told that I could make a claim ‘today’. When the sales rep completed our transaction, I asked to be transferred to the... Read More

I currently have 2-10 as a Home Warranty provider. I purchased the home in August 2018. It was the company that my real estate agent's company I went with used. I will not recommend anyone to them. I was told that the HVAC was covered. Fast forward to November of 2018 my heat went out. I called them and they could not get anyone to my place for over a week. Then once contractor sent the information the company they denied my claim because in their words the piece takes a long time to become defective. So the issue started before the house was purchased by me. I ended up spending 12 hours on the phone with them and having to have the call escalated to a supervisor 4 times. And... Read More

7 weeks and 1 day. That's how long we've been without a working dishwasher so far. Two different appliance repair companies, four different repairmen, a total of six visits and three different parts replaced, and we have yet to have a working dishwasher. 7 weeks and counting...for a dishwasher. Not a rocket booster on a space shuttle...a dishwasher. 7 weeks. After going back and forth with the two repair companies for 6 weeks between visits and waiting on parts over and over again, today is Wednesday, 27 Mar, six calendar days and four business days after a tech put in a "can't fix" resolution. After calling 2-10 for the 3rd time this week completely fed up with being without a... Read More

Home Buyers 2-10 is obviously declining in their customer service. I called to asked if I was covered to get work on my garage spring. I was told continuously by the rep that I was and of course they even made the appointment for me. I take 3 hours from work for the technician to arrive and while on the phone with 2-10, they said I'm not covered. I asked over and over and was previously told that I was before they made the appointment. Now I missed time from work which is money for my family, I have to pay the total repair (supposed to get reimbursed $75 for the service fee, but I hope that isn't a lie too!) but was also told I could not speak to anyone higher that the floor supervisor... 2-10 warranty is all for the builders and not at all for the home owner, in my case my home had an issue with the roof where the builder K&M Homes Owner Keith Hancock Hired roofers to do thw work on my home and they did some crappy work on one part of the roof i contacted 2-10 warranty about this problem they in turn contacted the builder about the repair for the roof and the builder Keith Hancock refused to repair what was clearly their fault. This company and this builder are full if it. I will be seeking legal actions about this matter and submitting pictures of how these hired roofers covered up a crappy roof job this builder also refused tocomplete the settlement crack and caulking...
